Imagine waking in a rustic stone cottage, pulling back the curtains and seeing one of the Roseland Peninsula’s most idyllic valleys. Carvinack Cottage is a truly special place, surrounded by organic farmland yet only a few minutes drive from St Mawes, Portscatho or the King Harry Ferry. For those in search of peace and tranquillity, yet an ideal position for easy access to all of the attractions of the Roseland, there is simply no better place than Carvinack.
This lovely old Cornish stone barn has been tastefully converted to provide a real character place to stay with all the comforts of home. Carvinack Cottage is situated about 200 yards from the Owner’s house at Carvinack along a private drive. The cottage is hidden from the road and only has the Owners drive going past and some stables about 100 yards away. The cottage has a raised patio area with access to a lower private garden, which is the perfect place to quietly read a book or privately entertain a group of friends around the built in BBQ. On clear Cornish evenings, enjoy crystal clear views of the night sky without the effects of streetlights!

The little village of St Just in Roseland is located about 2 miles north of St Mawes. A quiet, sleepy little village, it has a pretty little creek and the quite delightful church and wonderful churchyard. No visit to the Roseland is complete without seeing this peaceful place. Probably the only sub tropical churchyard in the British Isles, it is a beautiful & tranquil place with some unique flora. The little creek is home to a boatyard and not much else! Although the beaches are of shingle, you can reach some great sunbathing spots from here with some wonderful views over the water towards Mylor.
Nearby, you can explore the D-Day embarkation points at Turnaware Bar and nearby Smugglers Cottage which also houses a little display. It is also is one of the best spots in the area for a cream tea!! The walks around Messack Point on the north side of St Just in Roseland Creek offer some of the finest views across the Carrick Roads.
The tiny tranquil Cornish village of Philleigh is nearby and is famous for its sixteenth cetury pub, The Roseland Inn. Portscatho & St Mawes are also within 10 minutes of Carvinack and offer some lovely beaches & plenty of watersports.
Portscatho has a good general store, a Post Office plus a couple of pubs & restaurants at the nearby hotels. St Mawes has plenty of facilities including a few hotels with fine restaurants including the famous Hotel Tresanton, plus a few pubs, a good Co-op general store, a butchers, chemist & post office.
We had a lovely time and thought the cottage was great, well provisioned, great secluded location, clean and comfortable and we will be booking again. |

| Thank you for providing such a wonderful property for us to stay in whilst in Cornwall. The cottage was a true oasis to come home to every day. We will be recommending your place to a few friends of ours (both in the UK and at home) so thank you again! |

| We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage - it was beautiful, and such a lovely setting, and catered for all our needs. Before when I have stayed in Cornwall its always been on the north coast - Perranport, Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tingatel..... but this side was fantastic. Am hoping that my numbers come up on the lottery as I would buy a house in St Mawes without hesitation.... what a lovely view over the bay |
