Merrose Barn is a very comfortable and well equipped barn conversion on a quiet farm just to the north of Portscatho close to the little village of Rosevine. It is a great base for walkers as the Coast Path is just over 10 minutes walk away. The little beach at Cugurrel is also a delight (and very quiet!). The Owners of Merrose Barn run the superb Roseland Paddle & Sail sailing and windsurfing school at Percuil and can provide lessons and hire.
The barn itself sleeps a young family of four comfortably, but can also sleep up to six people if required with the use of a futon sofa bed in the lounge area. There is a good sized double room and a smaller bunk bedded room. The lounge, kitchen & dining area is all open plan with French windows onto a small little south facing patio area which is a superb place to relax. There is also plenty of space for children to run around close to the barn.
Accommodation
Ground Floor only: The front door opens into a porch & then the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. A corridor leads off to the double room, bunk bedded room and bathroom.
External: The French windows open onto the patio area.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via gas central heating. There is a TV, DVD & Video player in the lounge. The kitchen is fitted with a range of cupboards and has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and electric cooker.
Miscellaneous
Bed linen is provided, but you will need to bring your own towels & beach towels. There is parking available for up to 2 cars outside the barn. Regrettably, dogs are not permitted in the barn. We regret no smoking is permitted.

In April, May,September and October for guests wishing to take lessons with Roseland Paddle & Sail, the Owners will offer two for the price of one. If all the family wishes to participate there are family discounts available.
Arrival / Departure is on a Friday and short breaks are available in the quieter times of year.
Portscatho and its neighbouring village of Gerrans are located on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, overlooking the dramatic Gerrans Bay. A truly peaceful waterside village, Portscatho is a lovely place for a holiday. There are miles of coastal and countryside footpaths to explore, particularly along St Anthony's Head. Portscatho was once a busy fishing harbour, but now it has become a haven for artists due to the striking light which is particularly good in the morning sun. More than anything, Portscatho is a relaxing place. The beaches such as Porthcurnick, Towan and Porthbeor are simply idyllic and these are only minutes from the village. With a superb local butchers shop, 2 great little pubs and a well stocked local store, Portscatho and Gerrans are a lovely place to spend a holiday.
It is also a good spot to base yourself for exploring wider afield. The Lost Gardens of Heligan & the Eden Project are with half an hours drive and the King Harry Ferry is only a few minutes drive from Merrose Farm to give you access to Falmouth and further west in Cornwall.
Just had a lovely week in Merrose barn.
Very peaceful and Roseland and all its surrounding area enjoyable. Beautiful
