Originating from the 16th Century, this delightful cottage is perfect for keen walkers or those just wanting some peace by the sea. Set in about 150 acres of organic farmland on the banks of the Percuil River and bordered by National Trust land, there are pleasant walks to the coastal path or the tranquil Percuil Creek and the owners of Trevennel Farm are happy for you to amble around the farm. St Mawes is just over a mile stroll across fields with outstanding views. The village has a well established range of good quality pubs and restaurants beside the magical harbour. If the varied small galleries and shops are not enough, there are passenger ferries running from St Mawes to both the bustling port of Falmouth and St Anthony, with its hidden beaches and famous lighthouse.
The cottage is approached by a private lane and occupies one self contained wing of the main farmhouse. Guests have their own lawned area, but are also very welcome to use the beautiful main garden extending to almost two acres. The cottage itself has bags of character with thick Cornish stone walls and lovely window seats. The living room is really comfortably furnished and is a welcoming place to enjoy view of the garden. Up a couple of steps from the living room, there is a cosy farmhouse kitchen with all the usual mod cons. Up a turning staircase is a well fitted shower room and two bedrooms, a large double and a single, both with large sash windows looking across the garden to established trees beyond. There is a third bedroom which is found on a mezzanine gallery above the kitchen, accessed by ladder steps.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.
St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round.
| Thank you so much. The cottage was just perfect and exactly what we wanted. Loved every minute and did not want to leave. The owners were so nice and friendly and made us feel so welcome. |
