We returned for our second stay this year to Cobblers Cottage. We settled back in as if we had never been away and so did the dogs! We love everything about Cobblers Cottage, it's charm and location and we hope to return again next year.

Lovely stay at cobblers cottage. Everything very good quality and very clean. No Internet and no phone signal in cottage but ok around the harbour. Make use of mussel cards. We saved 40 in one week popping over to Falmouth and a trip to trelissick and using The King Harry ferry. Two beaches with diving platforms both very safe for swimming. St Mawes is idyllic!

Gary from Derby stayed at Cobblers Cottage for 7 nights in August
A nice cottage in a really convenient location right next to the harbour. We were warned that it might be noisy being right opposite a hotel entrance but this was no issue at all and we had a great stay. Well equipped and comfortable. Having no wifi in a place with very poor mobile reception was the only issue.

Guest from Nottingham stayed at Cobblers Cottage for 7 nights in May
A nice location, for the following, walks, local shops, FalRiver trips, very expensive to eat in the local pubs, hotels & Watch House for what you received. Car parking is good however, their is no mention by Cornwell Cottages that you need to have 25 in cash either 1, 2 pounds coins or smaller denomination as the machine dose not accept credit cards, or a telephone number to make the necessary payment for a weeks stay. Not good!. The owner needs to be advised that the bath has a leek when you shower, it drips through the floor boards in the kitchen area it's been their for some time as the floor joists have a water stain. The cleanlyness in the bathroom behind the sink could do with a good clean with bleach, didn't smell but was noticeable. The electric hob has no indication which one is on ie the front or back. However, we enjoyed our stay and would consider contacting Corwell Cottages if we visit the area again.

Guest from Paignton stayed at Cobblers Cottage for 7 nights in October
Lovely cottage, great location. Very comfortable stay. Nice touches like fresh flowers, biscuits, milk, teabags, and other useful stuff. We arrive a day late due to our own fault, but, the owner let us stay for a whole week anyway. We thought this was very kind indeed. We would definitely recommend this charming cottage to anyone looking around that area of Cornwall.

Lovely week away in cobblers cottage. Clean and welcoming. Well equipped . Great location -fall out of bed & into a great coffee shop! Small but fine for our family of 4 plus dog. Safe & close enough for the kids to walk to shops ( first time!!) and right in the heart of the action. Enclosed patio for dog too. We would certainly return

Nice quaint cottage in excellent location just a few yards from the harbour. Reasonably comfortable and well equipped but it would benefit from a larger TV.

Guest from Blessing Ham stayed at Cobblers Cottage for 7 nights in September
What can I say, what a little gem! We managed to fit 4 adults into this little cottage for a full week. The cottage itself had everything you would need, another couple of mirrors for the girls would have helped but apart from that it was ideal. The location just could not have been better. The butchers opposite provided some gorgeous sausages, bacon and black pudding. The bakers at the end of the lane have fantastic doughnuts. The local pubs and bars have plenty of Rattler cider as well as great food. The coffee shop does a lovely coffee and snacks. The list goes on and on! St Mawes itself is a lovely place to stay. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great stay in a fantastic location.

Very nice cottage had everything we needed. Loved St Mawes and will definitely be back. Treated ourselves to a meal at Tresanton Hotel which was fantastic. Great area for a dog friendly holiday.
Rob, Anna & Tessa, Sep 2014
Another wonderful week in St Mawes. Fabulously located cottage. Check out The Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick Beach - fab food. St Mawes Hotel a favourite watering hole. We never tire of this area - role on next year.
C & D Gutteridge, Aug 2014
Lovely cottage in a great position. Just had to fall out of bed and into the coffee shop! Fantastic butchers and super staff - wish we had this at home. The dog couldn't believe his luck - meat and bones to die for! Fantastically well thought out inside - everything we could possibly need. Even on our one rainy day it was still cosy inside. We plan to return soon.
The Daniels Family, Aug 2014
A great, comfortable, tasteful cottage that ties in with the beautiful surroundings of St Mawes. You wouldn't believe it's in England, with the beauty of it. We had a great time exploring the village - Lamorran Gardens was one of our favourites with cakes and tea in the gardens. We will be coming back.
The Harris Family, Aug 2014
Lovely cottage, love St Mawes more each time we stay. Comfy bed - home from home. See you next year.
Vicki & Dave, Jun 2014
We have had a fantastic time staying at Cobblers Cottage. We love St Mawes, the beach, the weather, the Rising Sun, the beautiful views, walks and rock pools. We will definitely be returning! The location of this cottage is amazing and the courtyard is lovely.
The Smiths, Leamington Spa, Apr 2014
Love St Mawes! Love the butcher! Love Cafe Chandlers! Love the fish 'n' chips from Watch House takeaway! Love the ferry over to Falmouth! Loved Truro! Really loved the cottage. Had a fab holiday and will definitely be back to St Mawes. Lost Gardens of Heligan are a must, King Harry Ferry excellent and must visit the church yard at St Just in Roseland - beautiful!
B Ryan, Sep 2013
A fantastic place to stay with everything you can want on your doorstep. St Mawes is beautiful. The cottage itself is wonderful, really cosy. It's been a wonderful holiday. 'Place' was a real find and the secluded beaches here are well worth a visit. Many thanks for a blinding holiday.
Michael & Laura, Essex, Sep 2013
We approached our first UK holiday in many years with nervous excitement. What a fabulous cottage - after just a couple of days we felt relaxed and totally at home. Our puppy, Bradley, was thrilled with his temporary home, and well behaved too!! The little extras you provided were well received - thank you. We walked just under 80 miles in total - we definitely recommend the ferry over to Place and doing the long walk into Portscatho and down to St Anthony's. Weather has been wonderful - we will be back!
Sandra & Clive, Aug 2013
Thank you, we had a fab stay. We loved the cottage, so cosy, the kids loved their room too! It is in the most fantastic spot. The weather was amazing which made for an excellent holiday spent on the beach. We will definitely be back!
The McConnells, Aug 2013
Thank you for a lovely stay. We loved the cottage and St Mawes (dogs and people). Glorious weather, lovely sea. Friendly people. Altogether a very happy week. We will certainly recommend this cottage to others.
The Cousins Family, Aug 2013
We feel very blessed to have found this little cottage and so lucky that it was available for us again this year. We love it sooo much - it has everything we need and oodles of Cornish charm thrown in! One week is simply not enough and we are very sad to be leaving but thank you and hope to be back again next year.
Liz, Tom & Harry, Jul 2013
Our first holiday in St Mawes - what a fabulous place. Loved Cobblers Cottage - great cottage in a lovely position. We will be back!
Richard & Carol, May 2013
One cannot really surpass that which has already been written in previous pages. Had a wonderful stay. St Mawes locals delightful and v friendly to ourselves and my two tiny hounds.
Anon, May 2013
Had a lovely stay here in St Mawes - the cottage is great and we managed a couple of good walks despite the "mixed" weather. The sausages from the butchers are the best we've had in England!
Chris, Julia & Benny, Cologne, May 2013
Great place to visit and we had everything we needed in the cottage. Having the Butcher and Baker so close was rather handy. We had lots of trips out, even with the weather a bit chilly - Eden Project, Falmouth (Maritime Museum), walk to St Anthony's Head, Trelissick. Lots of fun.
Jez, Liz, Grace & Ben, Mar 2013
What a great find - our first time in St Mawes - love it! Cottage is lovely, great location. Perfect for our two dogs, they were welcome everywhere. We were very lucky with the weather - sunny nearly every day when the rest of the country had floods. We will be back.
Paul, Neil & Di, Sep 2012
A fabulous location. Beautiful cottage, a great little part of our country. We will definitely return. Good dog-friendly beaches and pubs. Thank you for making our week in Cornwall a relaxing one whatever the weather.
The Marcus Family, Aug 2012
We have just come back from a splendid week in Cornwall at Cobblers Cottage in beautiful St Mawes. The cottage is just delightful, we were lucky enough to spend a week there last year and we are already looking forward to next! Its location, decor, furnishings and facilities are excellent.
L Skivington, Jul 2012
We had the most wonderful week. Such a shame the weather was not better but we still had a very special holiday here. The cottage is really like a home away from home and we loved it! So cosy and so many lovely touches. The Watch House is a great restaurant - delicious food and superb location. The butchers is also a great find - the sausages are super! Thank you for a very memorable holiday here in St Mawes in your beautiful cottage. We look forward to returning next year.
The Burke Family, Leicestershire, Jun 2012
Very comfortable cottage in a first class location. We have not stayed in St Mawes before so great to have everything on the doorstep. Particularly appreciated quality of all the furnishings, particularly the bed linen and the full range of equipment provided. Many thanks.
The Cookes, Shropshire, May 2012
Well what a cottage, absolutely fine, exquisite taste, everything we needed. The waters hot always, the equipment superb and extremely clean, immaculate, well done. Your bathroom is fantastic as is your shower! We have enjoyed your cottage so thank you!
Pauline, Amanda & Alex , Feb 2012
Very comfortable, cosy cottage, very nicely decorated and furnished. We had a lovely week despite some heavy rain! Recommend ferry to Place and walk to lighthouse - Porthbeor Beach and back. Thank you! Excellent location!
Mr & Mrs Laycock , Sep 2011
Loved Cobblers Cottage, best place to stay in St Mawes. Great crabbing on the wall by the quay. We went on fishing trips and caught 10 mackerel, velvet swimming crabs, brown crabs and lots of lobsters! Thank you for a great house and holiday! Such a lovely cottage and a brilliant location!
The Geake Family , Aug 2011
I had a fabulous holiday thank you. The cottage was wonderful and I'd love to think that we'd be back one day. I will certainly use cornwallscottages again, you made the whole process so easy and there were no hitches at all. Cobblers Cottage was perfect; brilliant location, beautifully decorated and little touches like a vase of flowers, milk and biscuits there for us on arrival was a lovely touch.
L Skivington, Jul 2011
This week has been idyllic. We have loved the cottage - a true home from home! Our 5 month daughter has truly delighted in being here, as have we. We are looking forward to coming again. Thank you.
The Campbell's , May 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the delightful Cobblers Cottage ...falling in love with it as soon as we entered the door!! The tasteful interior and brilliant location really added to a great holiday experience. The owner has obviously put a lot of thought into it and all the home comforts it offers
J Daynes, May 2010
We had a lovely week staying at Cobblers Cottage, definitely one of the best we have stayed in. It is an ideal situation being so close to the harbour, beaches and shops.
Stewart, Sarah, Ollie and Sydney (our dog), Oct 2009
Wow!  The perfect location and this charming cottage made for a blissful week away. You've clearly thought of everything and we will be rushing to book again.

Cobblers Cottage, St Mawes, Cornwall

Cobblers Cottage is set right in the heart of old St Mawes, up a narrow lane literally a stone's throw from St Mawes Harbour. Superbly presented by the owners, the cottage offers very comfortable accommodation for up to three adults or a small family of four. You could not be in a more central location in St Mawes and the cottage is only some 50 yards to the Quay from which ferries leave for Falmouth, Truro and Place. It is a small old traditional village cottage, full of character, but nevertheless, quite compact in places.

The cottage benefits from a very private patio garden which is a lovely peaceful place to relax with a book. It is only a short level walk to either Tavern or Summers Beach or there is even access to a small shingle beach which is a real sun trap within a one minute walk from the cottage door.

Please note that the cottage is right in the heart of the village, which is really convenient, but it does mean that occasionally it can be busy and at times noisy from nearby activities and village events. The lane is also well used by pedestrians and the village butchers shop and the residents' entrance to the St Mawes Hotel is immediately opposite the cottage.

Accommodation
Ground Floor: The entrance is through the private patio area and the ground floor comprises and open plan lounge and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully fitted with a range of equipment and is finished with a granite worktop. The lounge has a comfortable sofa, easy chair and there is a small dining table.
First Floor: There is a double bedroom with 5' bed and a second bedroom with a single "Captains Bed" that has a pull out bed beneath which is suitable for children. The bathroom is presented with limestone tiling and has the benefit of a powerful shower over the bath. Exterior: A private enclosed patio area.

Facilities & Services
The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an oven, small hob, a microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. The lounge area has a TV & DVD player. WiFi access is available from the nearby St Mawes Hotel or from the St Mawes Sailing Club for members. There is an iron & ironing board.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Regrettably there is no parking at Cobblers although there are public car parks nearby. Up to two well behaved small dogs (spaniels or smaller please) will be permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week although please remember that you cannot leave dogs unattended in the cottage alone. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. There is a cot & high chair available on request. Stairgate at the bottom of stairs.

General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is normally a Friday.
Shortbreaks are available during quieter periods.
£100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.

St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round.
