Jeremy from London stayed at Laburnum Cottage for 7 nights in April
We found Laburnum Cottage to be extremely comfortable for our party of five. The living area is spacious with two small lounges and a large dining room. The kitchen is large, modern and very well equipped. The cottage has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The three bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds, and the bathroom and en-suite are both modern, fresh and clean. The garden is well presented and large enough for a party to sit out comfortably in the summer. The location in Veryan on the Roseland Peninsula is fantastic with good local amenities within walking distance and all likely Cornish attractions easily accessible.

Guest from Rugby stayed at Laburnum Cottage for 7 nights in July
Laburnum cottage is a 10 min walk from Veryan with its pub, post office and couple of tea and craft shops. It provides easy access to several sandy beaches (take your choice depending on wind direction and tide), St Mawes, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and a fine stretch of the coast path. The cottage has 3 well proportioned double bedrooms with quirky shutters on the windows (we loved them) and sufficient storage space for a short stay. The 'sunny corner' is a lovely 'all-day' sun-trap for eating breakfast or reading a book tho' I wish the garden wall was slightly lower so that I could see more of the adjoining fields. The garden is small and well maintained.

William from London stayed at Laburnum Cottage for 7 nights in May
Delightful cottage in lovely quiet village. Short walk to playground. Scenic drive to St Mawes, beaches etc great location. Very child friendly, box of toys and kids' step and kids' armchairs (which they loved!) provided. Very well equipped kitchen and spacious dining area. All spotlessly clean. A comfy sofa in sitting room would be a great addition.

Ideal location for six people to stay in comfort , whilst having a lot of creature comforts , wonderful big kitchen & facilities . The whole house has been very well renovated, well thought out , fantastic power showers ! sited in a very quite village of Veryan , but your not very far from some wonderful beaches, and beautiful clear sea . we had the best whether you could dream of . The family fell in love with the cottage ,and didn't want to come home ! we would love to book this again in the future, maybe an area we would consider retiring to ! thank you . Guest from Saffron Walden stayed at Laburnum Cottage for 7 nights in October
Laburnum Cottage is a very well restored cottage with high quality fittings, good village position. Very well looked after in excellent condition. We had a good stay which was spoilt by the inability of the cottage to seat six adults comfortably, there are two small lounges with hard furniture that seat four in each room. The hot water system is inadequate for six adults and there is no control offered for the heating system. No welcome pack provided (some previous visitors had them !) Cornwall Cottages told us that the photos of the property clearly show the living room layout, and that they do not offer welcome packs. They declined to comment on the hot water or other points raised with them, they say that these have been passed to the owners for their comments. This cottage is ideal for a young family but not for adults holidaying together.

Guest from Gravesend stayed at Laburnum Cottage for 7 nights in July
A few negatives worth mentioning - but they didn't outweigh the positives! The furniture in the two living rooms was not the most comfortable. Definitely on the small size! Unless I just couldn't find them I don't think there was a broom or mop. Keys to one of the exterior doors was missing. (The owners offered to sort this but I didn't think it was worth getting someone over) (I contacted the owner re: failed light bulbs but agreed it wasn't worth getting someone over as they would be at the house themselves immediately after us)

We had a lovely week in Laburnum Cottage which is very homely cottage. The facilities were excellent, our only criticism was that provision of logs would be useful.

Lovely house in a lovely area. Would happily return. The kitchen / dinning area was fantastic. Looking at the house form the outside does not do it justice. Very well renovated and owners should be proud.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is situated in a beautiful area of Cornwall. The cottage itself is very well presented. It's great to stay somewhere that looks exactly as it appears on the website.

Thank you for a wonderful break. The cottage is very comfortable and well appointed. Just what the doctor ordered for a group of weary travellers from across the globe. We had a great time exploring Cornwall and the local area. We hope to be back again sometime in the future.

We have had a wonderful holiday in the beautiful cottage. It is so nice to stay in a place that is exactly as it is advertised. It has been our first holiday in Cornwall and we will definitely be back! The children have had a fantastic time. We have visited St Ives on several occasions - the waves are unbelievable!

Lovely stay everything met our expectations - cottage and location. Veryan and Portloe are an absolute delight as we discovered on foot via several of the recommended walks. We will be re-booking for 2014.
Leigh & Gra, Jun 2013
We enjoyed our stay at Laburnum Cottage very much indeed. It is a lovely renovation and very well equipped for guests. The weather was kind to us this week. We explored the countryside visiting the Lost Gardens of Helligan, Trelissick gardens and parts of Mevagissey, Portloe, Portscatho, St Mawes and Falmouth. We had a wonderful lunch at Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes. St Anthony’s head is also quite exceptional. A great week !!!!
David & Suzanne , Nov 2012
A wonderful holiday in a great cottage. This place is beautifully finished and superbly equipped. We were here to revisit parts of the coast path and it is truly beautiful in the Roseland. Nare head and St Anthony being highlights. Would also recommend a trip to St Agnes head if you want to look at some mine and a bit of a walk on the wilder side. Many thanks.
Pete & Amanda Youlgrave, Sep 2012
A great holiday in a fantastic cottage! Everything has been thought of here. The cottage is perfectly located for visiting all areas of Cornwall - we had great days out in St Ives, Padstow, St Mawes, Falmouth, Lizard Peninsula and Newquay. If you have children like ours we love Porthminster beach (St Ives), watching the surfers on the Fistral beach (Newquay), visiting the Blue reef aquarium (Newquay), the National Maritime museum (Falmouth), a trip around RNAS Culdrose (for those with a love of planes and helicopters) and crossing the King Harry ferry. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely cottage - we hope to be back soon.
The Plumey family, Aug 2012

What a lovely break we had at Laburnum Cottage! Is is so new, stylish and well equipped. We enjoyed an evening in the New Inn. We loved Carne beach. We visited the Minack theatre and the lovely St Mawes. As advice go to Curgurell farm. We bought fresh crab and lobster there and enjoyed it at this lovely cottage.

The delightful and charming village of Veryan on the Roseland Peninsula is most famous for its nineteenth century thatched Round Houses. There are five in all, two pairs of which stand at each end of the village and another in the centre. They were originally built by a missionary named Reverend Jeremiah Trist for his daughters. In a round house there are no corners where the devil can hide. A crucifix on the top of each one adds extra protection!

Veryan is ideally located for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and is only moments from the spectacular Carne Beach or the dramatic coastline around the historic fishing village of Portloe. Nearby is the lovingly restored Melinsey Mill where you can relax in a charming valley with a delicious Cornish cream tea.

There is a pub in Veryan called the New Inn which serves meals or you could enjoy some superb Crab at the Ship Inn at Portloe, only a 5 minute drive away. There are high quality restaurants at the Nare Hotel or around nearby Portscatho & St Mawes. There are village stores in Veryan or alternatively mini supermarkets at the nearby Bessy Beneath filling station or in the village of Tregony.
