Anne from Welwyn stayed at Skiber Cottage for 7 nights in September
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Skiber Cottage. It's very well equipped; the excellent directions and warm welcome from the owners, and the thoughtful little touches all add to the ease of a self catering holiday. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and ideal for long walks with glorious views. We didn't spend much time at the property during the daytime but in high summer the garden would be great for relaxing in the sunshine. The cottage was just what we needed - a very comfortable base from which to explore the area.

Guest from South Brent stayed at Skiber Cottage for 7 nights in August
Skiber Cottage is surrounded by National Trust Land enabling you to walk from the front door in beautiful countryside. It is also near to Carrick Roads, a fantastic waterway so great for boat owners. The cottage owners were friendly and we much appreciated the added touches of fresh flowers and a sponge cake to greet our arrival. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Our stay at your cottage was just great! We have been visiting Cornwall for the past 7 years and yours was one of the best cottages we've had! We fully enjoyed the comfort it provided. The facilities were "spot on" from all points. Well done.

Customer testimonials

We had a lovely holiday at Skiber Cottage. The cottage itself was lovely and one of the best we have stayed at since our yearly Cornwall visits of the past few years! Your booking service was faultless and the cottage generally pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely consider returning to Skiber Cottage in the future.
The Ruocco family, Aug 2013
We found your lovely cottage on the internet and having had a week here, it has exceeded our expectations! It is very comfortable and well appointed. When we return to Canada, we'll be sure to tell all our friends about your cottages and the wonderful walks in the area. This has been a good base for our holiday in this part of Cornwall!
K&J Walters, Jun 2011
Many thanks for letting us stay in such a comfortable, beautifully prepared and well equipped cottage. You provided us with a perfect base to explore this glorious peninsular. We were blessed with warm and sunny weather to seek out every meandering creek and tiny harbour and we doubt if any remains to be found. Our thanks, too, to Sue who so willingly and cheerfully looked after all our needs.
T & R Dunstan, May 2011
5th visit - as welcoming as ever and I think the area is stunning in May - unbelievable foxgloves in the hedgerows! See you soon and thank you!

The village of St Just in Roseland is located about 2 miles north of St Mawes. A small village, it has a pretty creek and the quite delightful church and wonderful churchyard. No visit to the Roseland is complete without seeing this peaceful place. Probably the only sub tropical churchyard in the British Isles, it is a beautiful & tranquil place with some unique flora. The creek is home to a boatyard and not much else! Although the beaches are of shingle, you can reach some great sunbathing spots from here with some wonderful views over the water towards Mylor.

Nearby, you can explore the D-Day embarkation points at Turnaware Bar and nearby Smugglers Cottage which also houses a little display. It is also is one of the best spots in the area for a cream tea!! The walks around Messack Point on the north side of St Just in Roseland Creek offer some of the finest views across the Carrick Roads. The tiny tranquil Cornish village of Philleigh is nearby and is famous for its sixteenth cetury pub, The Roseland Inn.

Portscatho & St Mawes are also within 10 minutes of Skiber and offer some lovely beaches & plenty of watersports. Portscatho has a good general store, a Post Office plus a couple of pubs & restaurants at the nearby hotels. St Mawes has plenty of facilities including a few hotels with fine restaurants including the famous Hotel Tresanton, plus a few pubs, a good Co-op general store, a butchers, chemist & post office.
