A lovely location in a picturesque harbour unfortunately the steep climb from the village/harbour to the property was not mentioned sufficiently in the description, my father is Seventy Eight and although managed the 17% gradient climb a few times, it will be the one memory he will always remember!
Garden area is tiny, more of a dining patio area with no garden, swinging hammock was a nice touch at the front of the property.
Dining out in St Mawes is limited to the very nice Rising Sun pub, every other restaurant or pub needed at least 24 hours booking!!
A nice clean property with good facilities and all beds were comfy.
Sea view is a squinted glimpse.
Would I book again? Probably not

Trevennen Rock is a beautiful house in a fantastic location but is let down by the fact that it is looking very tired and shabby in places; lots of scuff marks on the doors and skirting boards for example.
When we arrived the house wasn't clean - the ensuite bathroom had hairs in the bath and the sink and just take a look in the wardrobe - full of dust and I mean full of dust!!
the instructions in the property said that on the last day - "please leave the house as you would like to find it" This is confusing - are we - the guests doing the job of a cleaner to save the company and the owners money, or does a cleaner come in after we have left? If we had left the house as we would have liked to have found it - then I would have been cleaning all day and this isn't acceptable to me when I am on holiday. We cleaned the ensuite bathroom and the kitchen and lounge area with the limited cleaning products provided ( no toilet cleaner or bleach?)
We have at least two holidays in the UK each year and invariably we book one of these in Cornwall, and have tended to book with Blue Chip Holidays and Owners Direct and the quality and cleanliness of their properties is exceptional. All in all, a lovely house but disappointing based on the money paid, we won't be booking another Cornwalls cottage holiday if this is the standard of cleanliness provided in your properties.

Trevennan Rock is a great property in great condition, in a great location.
Facilities are great although for some reason there was only one small cooking pan in the kitchen which meant that we were rather limited to certain cooking options. This would have not been a problem if we were advised to bring some with us beforehand.
Otherwise a great property and location for a short stay.

Trevennen Rock is in a perfect location for walking down the hill into St Mawes - close enough to walk to the harbour, shops and beaches. Great to have parking spaces. Beautiful large lounge area with great views.

Just what we needed - a beautiful house in an idyllic setting ! Plenty of room for seven people . Only fault we found was that the food cupboard in the kitchen was full with someone else's food etc and we had to put our things on top of hob which looked untidy but it certainly didn't spoil a fantastic holiday. It would be good not to have to take our own towels but again it wouldn't stop us from visiting again. Don't think it's a suitable house for children because of the amount of ornaments everywhere.

The house is in a great position and is very comfortable and clean but there are a few areas that let it down.
The crockery was from about 20 different sets and each piece was chipped. The glasses were stained from the dishwasher and so didn't look great.
There were only two pans and we were there for Christmas so this was never going to be enough! The utensils were all mixed up and didn't look particularly clean.
The final issue was the pillows to the beds. They all smelt as if they had never been cleaned and so we had to cover them in towels. You are asked to strip the beds at the end of your stay which is fair enough, but when we did, all we saw was heavily stained duvets and mattresses. This was not what I wanted to see or paid for.
All that said, it is a nice house in a great location and we had a fantastic Christmas and Nee Year but if the above points were addressed, it would be a fantastic house.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.
St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Tresanton Hotel) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a well-stocked Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butchers, and art, book and clothes shops. The village also has a doctor’s surgery and a dentist’s surgery.

Dogs are welcome & there are TWO PARKING SPACES.
With dramatic views of the bay and across the water to St Anthony headland, from both the master bedroom and the living room, Chapel Cottage offers a great vantage point to watch all the waterborne activities in St Mawes. Only moments from the harbour area, this is a very popular position to stay in St Mawes.
