This was our second stay at Upper Tresulian and we will be returning once more next year. It meets our needs in every way from the location, the cleanliness and comfort, and of course the view which is to die for! This is not the property to select if you are struggle to walk 50m up a hill, or up a couple of flights of steps, or if you find negotiating very narrow lanes in your car to reach a property intimidating. However, if these factors are not an issue, I cannot fault it. It is simply superb! Paula and Leslie provide a very warm welcome, ably assisted be their canine companions Alfie and Buddy, together with an immaculate property with a picture postcard view of St Mawes harbour. What more could you ask for?

Our fourth year at Upper Tresulian and already looking forward to hopefully returning next year. We just love this place in all respects but particularly the ultimate view across St Mawes and the lovely, friendly owners, Leslie and Paula, who are so helpful and welcoming.

Dennis from Wakefield stayed at Upper Tresulian for 7 nights in June
Upper Tresulian and St Mawes is one of the best and loveliest places my wife and I have stayed. The apartment was immaculate and the views are out of this world. I was impressed by the photographs on the website but actually being there is a completely different experience and not one I would have wanted to miss. For me it was ideal and the owners are lovely people. We only booked for a week and were sad to be leaving but we were told that there had been a cancellation for Lower Tresulian the following week so we moved downstairs and enjoyed another wonderful week.

Pip from Berrow, Malvern stayed at Upper Tresulian for 7 nights in July
This was our first week staying at Upper Tresulian, but it will not be our last, in fact we've already booked for next year! The location within St Mawes is perfect. Although accessing the property requires a brief walk up the hill together with a short flight of steps, it means the views are second to none, and the layout of the property certainly makes the most of it with a picture postcard view in all directions! The apartment is finished to a high specification with excellent attention to detail, and the ice-making facility in the large fridge freezer was put to good use last week when we were lucky enough to have superb weather. The only thing not provided are hand towels, so make sure you pack some. Leslie and Paula provide a very warm welcome, ably assisted by 'the boys' Alfie and Buddy who are real characters, and we're already looking forward to seeing them again next year!

J Barry from Kidderminster stayed at Upper Tresulian for 7 nights in May
We could have stayed by the picture window all week but do venture out as St Mawes and the surrounding area is excellent for walking. The apartment is fairly well equipped and all the appliances easy to use. Furnishings a little dated to similar priced apartments we have stayed in but all serviceable and the bed was comfortable. Towels are now provided however 1 small bath towel each is not enough and hand towels should also be provided luckily we took beach towels which we needed to use. A nice apartment with excellent views!

We've now stayed here three years in a row and already plan to return next year - need we say more?!?! There is so much to commend this property - lovely friendly owners who live next door, spacious layout, stylish decor, excellent facilities and an amazing panoramic view across St Mawes Bay. I do accept that accessibility may be an issue for some as the location along Chapel/Riviera Lane with it's twists and turns can be a bit scary - we have a small car which helps - but what you get in return makes it well worth the effort!!!

Spectacular views from the sitting area of the bay and the bedroom. Paula and Leslie and the boys made us very welcome with a bottle of wine on our arrival. Accommodation was perfect, just what we expected. We would book this property again. Small advisory, you need to be fit to do the steps so not suitable for the infirm.

This was my third stay at Upper T so I knew what to expect. Once again owners Paula & Leslie very welcoming & helpful. For me this flat has everything I want for a holiday. Yes I would recommend it to others but then I would run the risk of having fewer dates to choose from if they were to book it!

Alan from Glasgow stayed at Upper Tresulian for 7 nights in October
The property itself has everything needed for a self catering stay. The only problem is the view from the front window, which has the ability to make you sit and do nothing for long periods of time, since it is FANTASTIC! We have stayed before at Lower Tresulian, and I have a feeling we will be back at either one in the near future. The weather for our week in October was calm and sunny for the most part, so we were out walking the coast every day. We didn't need much help from our hosts as we have been to St Mawes many times, but Leslie and Paula were on hand if needed to help out with dining recommendations, etc.

This propery must offer one of the best vantage points in South Cornwall. The views of St Mawes Harbour, St Anthony's Head and the Fal estuary are ever changing and simply stunning. Be aware that access to the house is steep and narrow and there are several flights of external steps to the apartment, so probably not suitable for all. You will receive a warm welcome and any help you need from the owners next door and their two fluffy dogs. I would thoroughly recommend this place for its location - not only for the views but also affording non-arduous coastal walks including around the castle, with pubs, restaurants and shops on hand and ferries from the harbour. Couldn't ask for more!

Another wonderful St Mawes holiday. We booked all of the Tresulian Treasures this time so that we could bring the family with us. The sun shone, the sea sparkled, and we all came home refreshed &revived. St Mawes never disappoints. Having stayed in several other cottages over the past few years we regard the Tresulians to be our top choice and only wish we'd discovered it earlier. Once we park up outside the house we enjoy the fabulous views on our easy walk to the beaches, pasty shop on the quay, shops and cafes etc. everything is within easy reach, including the Castle.

The view is outstanding, and with a little bit of imagination this property could match that, which sadly it is currently lacking. Eg no bath towels, bath mats, hand towels; no mirrors which can be viewed at standing level; uncomfortable sofas which seat you below where the view is; budget crockery and cutlery; a yappy dog next door (owners).

Well, what can I say? What a beautiful place to stay! We came to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and had a very warm welcome! 'Happy anniversary' banners around the apartment and a lovely card were such a lovely touch. The apartment was lovely, gorgeous kitchen with a big American style fridge/freezer, very comfortable bedroom and a handy two bathrooms. The rooms all look like they have been newly re-furbished! And the views...WOW!! Paula and Leslie are fantastic hosts, they are so friendly and they know all the best places to go, if you need anything you only need to ask. Thank you so much for having us, we had a really lovely time xx

My wife and I spent 7 lovely days at Upper Tresulian in May 2014 , the owners Paula and Leslie ( who live next door ) made us feel very welcome especially with the gift of a bottle of wine upon our arrival . The location was magnificent , the views , from the sun lounge , of the entrance to the Fal estuary are wonderful , showing in real life widescreen an ever changing panorama of ships and weather systems .

We holiday in St Mawes every year in May in a different cottage each time. Each cottage has been better than the previous one, and with Upper Tresulian we think we've finally found the ultimate place to stay in - so much so that we have already made enquiries about staying there next year for TWO weeks in May! Every aspect of our stay was wonderful but we would particularly mention our excellent hosts, Leslie and Paula, who were so friendly and helpful, and the unbelievable view from the lounge which cannot be surpassed. A truly memorable holiday!

Exactly as it looks on the website, this is a very comfortable apartment with breathtaking views of St Mawes harbour and the Fall estuary, so there is always something to look at when just blobbing out. The only negatives are the road access, which is very narrow as well as steep in places, so awkward for a long wheel base car (ours is volvo estate length); we didn't try to get back in the dark and payed to park in St Mawes! It would have been helpful to be told not to try to get out by continuing on down the road - we only just squeezed through and later discovered that NO ONE does it - there was about 2 cms to spare. Scary. That said, we had a marvellous week and the weather was beautiful, as is St Mawes and the Roseland. The apartment is very well equipped and we bought beautiful fresh local produce, as well as having great eating out experiences. The Driftwood really is worth it if you want a Michelin experience - our 3rd visit;

Guest from Phoenix stayed at Upper Tresulian for 7 nights in September
Upper Tresulian is an excellent, clean, beautifully maintained apartment with stunning views over the Roseland Peninsula, St. Mawes Harbour and Carrick Roads. The owners, Leslie and Paula, are very welcoming and down-to-earth people who asked us several times how we were doing and if we needed anything. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious and includes a dining area. The bedrooms are large and comfy. There are really two bathrooms (the ads say one) - one with a shower, toilet and basin and one with a bath, toilet and basin. The lounge is narrow and the seats are rather low, but afford the views noted above. There is a big-screen TV with Freesat. WiFi reception is spotty in spite of the provided extender (booster) unit. The same goes for mobile phones (at least for 3, Virgin and T-Mobile), though coverage usually was available by the front windows. All the appliances and the heating system are of very high quality and include an iron and a hairdryer. A single parking space is provided. This is one place which exceeds its advertising by a large margin, and four of us had a very enjoyable week. St. Mawes is quaint, quiet and beautiful with several good eateries (we found the Victory Inn and the Delicious Deli to be among the best). There is ferry service every half hour to Falmouth, bus service to Truro, and the Place Ferry provides access to several wonderful walks on the Peninsula. Highly Recommended.

What a superb apartment, amazing view. It even looked wonderful in the rain. Had a superb mini break, bought a Mussel pass and went to Truro on the ferry, back to Falmouth on the train then the ferry. On day 2 we took the ferry to Trelissick Gardens, bus to Truro and then bus back to St Mawes. It was a real treat to see so much without taking the car. Thank you so much for everything.

What an amazing place! We never tired of the view. Everything was perfect (except the weather). Wish we could stay longer. We'll definitely be back.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.

St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Tresanton Hotel) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a well-stocked Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butchers, and art, book and clothes shops. The village also has a doctor’s surgery and a dentist’s surgery.
