Peri from London stayed at Vineyard Cottage for 14 nights in August
The property is a delight, inside and out. The location is excellent - beautiful and very quiet, but with some nice villages a short drive away, and some bigger places (St Mawes, St Austell, Truro) still within easy reach. There are two good beaches nearby (8-10 minutes by car), and several more a short journey away. The owners are helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive. Would definitely consider going there again

Sophie from Peterborough stayed at Vineyard Cottage for 7 nights in September
We spent a wonderful week relaxing at Vineyard Cottage. Ideally located for discovering the Roseland Peninsular, the cottage offered us all the comforts of a home-from-home and we were very sad to leave. All the amenities in the cottage were perfectly ordered and in great condition, and both the bedroom and lounge were comfortable after a day's exploring. We cooked in the cottage twice during our week and had all the appliances and gadgets we needed in the kitchen. The patio outside was a lovely sun-trap, perfect for sunny breakfasts or lunches lounging outside. Ann and Graham were friendly and welcoming and we were happy they would have helped us with any problems (but we didn't have any!). We loved our stay and would happily return, and recommend it to our friends and family.

Everything in the cottage was perfect. Pity about the poor wi fi and mobile phone reception, didn't bother me but it could be a problem for some people . Would have liked a couple of comfortable garden chairs to relax outside. These are not meant to be critical as the whole experience of our stay was terrific. Loved it!

An excellent location for exploring the Roseland Peninsula. A warm welcome to an immaculate cottage. The only slight drawback is the lack of an internet connection, but you'd probably be better off without the internet during your stay anyway!

Lovely cottage in a great location, very handy for St Mawes and King Harry Ferry. Found bed uncomfortable and couldn't connect to wifi. Good pubs/food
Reply from CornwallsCottages.co.uk on behalf of the Ownerhe wifi extender had been replaced in August as the previous equipment had failed, it was replaced with a different wireless system it had been tested and was working. Unfortunately the signal was not reaching all parts of the building causing dead spots. Since this was brought to our attention a different system has been installed giving 100% wifi coverage in the building. It is always our aim to give our guests all they need to enjoy there stay at Vineyard Cottage and we will continue to do this in the future.

We really enjoyed Vineyard Cottage in Ruan High Lanes - it was high quality and very clean, comfortable and well equipped and Graham and Ann were excellent hosts - friendly, informative and unobtrusive, perfect.

I can't praise Vineyard Cottage highly enough, lovely owners and an immaculate, peaceful property with everything one could ever wish for on holiday, helped of course with the excellent weather I had all week, Roseland early in the year makes one wonder why anyone goes abroad. I found your booking system clear and swift, as was the email confirmation and the directions were excellent, all in all a very satisfied customer.

Treworga is a peaceful little hamlet in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula, close to the villages of Tregony, Veryan and Philleigh.

The tiny tranquil Cornish village of Philleigh is in superb countryside in the heart of the rural Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall. Famous for its sixteenth cetury pub, The Roseland Inn, Philleigh is ideally located for exploring the countryside of the Roseland Peninsula whilst only a ten minute drive from the superb beaches around Portscatho. The D-Day embarkation points at Turnaware Point and Smugglers Cottage are only a short drive from Philleigh. Smugglers Cottage is also a great place for a waterside Cornish cream tea!

The delightful and charming village of Veryan is nearby and is most famous for its nineteenth century thatched Round Houses. There are five in all, two pairs of which stand at each end of the village and another in the centre. They were originally built by a missionary named Reverend Jeremiah Trist for his daughters. In a round house there are no corners where the devil can hide. A crucifix on the top of each one adds extra protection!

Veryan is ideally located for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and is only moments from the spectacular Carne Beach or the dramatic coastline around the historic fishing village of Portloe. Nearby is the lovingly restored Melinsey Mill where you can relax in a charming valley with a delicious Cornish cream tea.

The village of Tregony is often referrred to as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The exceptionally wide Fore Street is a relic from the days when this was a busy port and market town with considerable traffic. The port has long since silted up due in part to china clay workings up stream, but Tregony has retained its charm. Tregony has an unusual clock tower on the Fore Street and the seventeenth century almshouses which boast an unusual wooden gallery. The site of a twelfth century Norman castle known as ‘Treg-ney’ from which the village got its name is situated on Tregony Hill.

The woods and riverside in the area between here and Ruan Lanihorne are fantastic to explore. The river is a firm favourite with ornithologists, the magical Lamorran Woods are alive with bluebells in the spring, you're as likely to pass deer or pheasants as you are motorists along this stretch of the Roseland. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and the city of Truro are only a short drive away from Tregony. Heading further into the Roseland you can find sandy beaches at Pendower and sailing and boat trips in St Mawes.
