Little Venn was truly five star as it's beautifully decorated and has lots of extra touches that made our stay just lovely. Great central location in busy village but as it's tucked away it's peaceful and perfect. Thankyou

Nigel from Reading stayed at Little Venn for 4 nights in May
Lovely cottage in a super location. The only negative point is the lack of parking and the difficulty in getting luggage to the property.
Reply from OwnerThank you for taking the time to review your stay at Little Venn and for your lovely feedback. It is very important to us that you enjoyed your stay and found everything to your liking. Parking isn't available at the cottage; as is the case for many properties in these beautiful Cornish coastal villages, but it is possible to park easily at the near end of Bohella Road; on the bottom of Grove Hill, where the road is wide enough to accommodate a vehicle for unloading purposes. The cottage is then less than a minutes walk away. The main carpark is only a 2 minute walk from the cottage, at the other end of the road, with easy pedestrian access. Some people do endeavour to drive along Bohella Road at times, but it is extremely narrow and this is not recommended. For further advice regarding parking and unloading please do not hesitate to contact Cornwalls Cottages staff who are all familiar with St Mawes and are very happy to help.

Anthony from Lancaster stayed at Little Venn for 7 nights in July
St Mawes is beautiful and we would highly recommend a week there. Little Venn was ideal, the bed comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and the kitchen had everything we needed for a week's self catered with allows you to make the most of the areas great food. Only criticism is that it would have been good to know more about the car parking in advance. The car park is only a short walk from cottage and is fine to use for the week, but the 30 weeks charge can only be paid in coins. This led to walking around town at 2am on arrival asking for change.
Reply from Cornwalls Cottages on behalf of the OwnerWe are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Little Venn but very sorry you didn't realise that you required change for the pay and display machine. We do send out our Roseland Guide to all guests staying in St Mawes prior to their arrival. This has a section on parking which explains that 30 in change is required for the machine. It is also possible to park overnight on single yellow lines and in parking bays on the street. The really good news is that we have just been informed that a card machine is about to be installed in the car park which will make life very much easier. We do hope this will entice you back to Little Venn!

A very beautiful 'home from home'. well equipped with everything we needed and with little extras on arrival that were well received after a long drive. A great location just a few steps to St Mawes harbour. St Mawes itself was a great base for our holiday and we visited some beautiful places with the added bonus of sunshine all week! Little Venn is a credit to it's owners and we will be back for sure! Thanks

Guest from Nottingham stayed at Little Venn for 7 nights in September
This was the second time we had stayed at Little Venn. We actually Googled it to find out which rental company the owners had changed to, but we love St Mawes and had been very happy with Little Venn the first time. It's a lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and very well-equipped and located just a couple of minutes' walk from the shops, the restaurants and cafes, the seafront, the harbour and even the car park! The downside is that there isn't much of a seaview, which might put some people off, but we aren't "sit at home" types so we didn't care much. We've only ever stayed there as a couple and honestly I'm not sure that the living area is big enough to comfortably cope with more than 2/3 people. We've never used the downstairs rooms because, although they are beautifully kept, they always seem a bit cold and dark as there are no windows apart from above the back door. Sorry if this sounds negative, it was just honest. However, we would absolutely stay there again as the pros definitely outweigh the cons. .
Reply from OwnerThank you for taking the time to search out Little Venn for your second visit to beautiful St Mawes. We really appreciate constructive reviews and take notice of the suggestions put forward. The description of Little Venn and photographs clearly portray the view available from the upper floor rooms, which we find adds to the charm of this old, former fishermans cottage. With regards to the lower floor, please do not hesitate to use the storage heating, heated towel rail and wall heaters. There is also an electric fan heater in the cupboard ( as detailed in the House Information Folder ) for instant heating, as we appreciate the storage heaters are not instant. The double bedroom, hallway and shower room on this floor have plentiful recessed spot lighting and lamps are provided. The bunk room has a ceiling light with energy saving bulbs which does take a little longer to 'warm up'. A lamp is available in this room as well. The back door is a stable door and weather permitting this can be made use of. In response to your concern about the seating area the property is restricted to a maximum of four occupants because we want our guests to have a comfortable stay. As a family of five and the seating area accommodates us comfortably. Many thanks and we hope you enjoyed your stay.

Guest from Leicester stayed at Little Venn for 7 nights in August
Couldn't believe our luck when we were able to book our week in St Mawes, staying in Little Venn. The property did not disappoint. Everything was beautifully clean and fresh. The cottage has everything that a person would need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable. The location is central, just behind the Victory Inn, which if you are staying in peak season, may mean that there will be noise well after closing time, even with the windows closed. Also there is very little room outside for drying wetsuits etc, but these are just little niggles, nothing to ruin a perfect week. Would really love to visit again.

Little Venn is a delightful 3 bedroom property located on the quaint Bohella Road in St Mawes, a charming lane just set back from the harbour containing a string of old fishermen's cottages. Little Venn is one such cottage, converted and modernised to provide a wonderful retreat in the heart of St Mawes, within walking distance of all you need for a great holiday.

The cottage is ideally located for exploring St Mawes and it is only a short walk down to the harbour with its selection of pubs and hotels. Summers or Tavern Beaches are only a little further. The little Place Ferry can take you to the dramatic St Anthony Headland with its coastal walks and sandy beaches and the main St Mawes Ferry brings the attractions of Falmouth within a 20 minute ride.

The property has 3 bedrooms, although please bear in mind that because of the size of the living area, the maximum capacity for the property is 4 people. Normally 2 bedrooms will be made up for you depending on the make up of your party (2 doubles for adults or the upstairs double and the bunk room if you have a family). Please also bear in mind that because of the steep stairs, the bunk beds and no high chair, only children over the age of 5 are permitted at Little Venn.

Accommodation
Upper Ground Floor: Porch entrance through to open plan living / dining room area with a fully fitted compact kitchen to one side. The master bedroom leads off with views between the roofs across the bay and benefits from an en-suite shower room.
Lower Ground Floor: Stairs (a little steeper than normal) lead down to the family shower room, bunk room and second double bedroom.
Exterior: There is no exterior space.

Facilities & Services
Heating is via night storage heaters. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an electric oven & hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge / freezer, nespresso machine, slimline dishwasher and washer / drier. The sitting room area has TV, DVD player, Bose Radio/CD player with a selection of DVDs and CDs for use by guests. WiFi is available at the property. There is an iron and ironing board.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Regrettably no dogs are permitted at Little Venn. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. Parking is available in the main village car park (about 200 metres away) and weekly tickets are available.

General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is normally a Sunday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£150 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.

Discounts available for couples staying for 7 nights outside the peak season, using one bedroom only.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors.

A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.

St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Tresanton Hotel) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a well-stocked Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butchers, and art, book and clothes shops. The village also has a doctor’s surgery and a dentist’s surgery.
