Great time in Cornwall, lovely cottage, would highly recommend. A home from home. Roseland area great for walks, some nice beaches.
We love staying at Crotchet cottage - this time we had roving guinea fowl visiting us each day - much to our dogs' horror! Apart from the guinea fowl, this is a wonderfully peaceful place to stay
A lovely place to have a short break. We really enjoyed our stay and had lots of lovely walks. The cottage is very warm and cozy.
We love Crotchet Cottage, such a peaceful location and we discovered new beaches this year, perfect for winter swimming.
Crotchet is a perfect base for walking in The Roseland . It is in right in the most beautiful part . So for a traditional holiday of walking and crabbing in a spectacular landscape it is a perfect location -quite remote and approached via very narrow lanes ! You have to get out into nature to make the most of it. Such a shame the nearest beach is still closed . We walked to Portscatho ( for nearest shops and pub) for lunch a few times ( good crab sandwiches at the Plume) and around the headland a number of times . The cottage is well equipped warm and cosy and stylish and classy in a basic way . Good quality kitchen fittings . Comfortable beds and linen . It has a lovely feel.
This is a lovely cosy cottage with comfortable seating and a well-equipped kitchen in a peaceful spot just 15 minutes' walk from the little foot ferry to St Mawes. The roads nearby are mainly single-track but we did lots of coastal and river walks straight from the door. It's only 10 minutes by ferry (in summer months) to the cafes and pubs at St Mawes and from there another short ferry to more diversions in Falmouth. We recommend the Watch House restaurant in St Mawes and Gylly Beach Cafe in Falmouth for excellent seafood. The cottage is ideal for a quiet get away from the world.
This is the second Christmas we have spent at Crotchet Cottage and we love it, its location, it's peaceful, pretty and well situated for our favourite haunts. We go prepared for slightly tricky parking and carrying all those things you thought 'I might just need' up the little path and it doesn't bother us. Our little dogs love it too!
A great cottage for a holiday exploring the south Cornwall coast. The cottage is really well equipped, the kitchen is lovely to sit in and the bedrooms feel cosy. The bed is very comfortable, even with a young baby we felt very rested. The location is beautiful - being so close to the coast path is great for walking and getting to the beaches quickly. It was nice not to use the car! The garden with the cottage was a treat and provided us with apples for our whole holiday. Crotchet Cottage is peaceful and cosy - a real find in the beautiful Roseland.
We loved staying in Crochet Cottage. The cottage itself was well equipped with comfortable bedrooms and a wonderful kitchen. We appreciated the change of linen at the end of the first week. The location is fantastic with footpaths to Place and to the best beaches in England! We walked into Portscatho and canoed over to St Mawes. We enjoyed great fish and chips from Portscatho and St Mawes. We will definitely be back to stay again.
The cottage afforded all the facilities we were expecting, whilst the car parking facilities aren't ideal we didn't experience any issues.
We had a really good holiday. The cottage exceeded our expectations. We loved being able to walk to the coastal path in just a couple of minutes from the door. The boats in the Fal estuary provided on-going interest each day. We enjoyed the nearby towns of St Mawes and Portscatho, with the added bonus of being able to walk or travel by ferry to reach them, meaning you were not reliant on a car.
An excellent cottage, warm and comfortable, which was an ideal place to stay to experience the delights of a beautiful coastline, stunning spring gardens and friendly people.
We had a great time, the cottage is lovely and the location was great, perfectly placed for lots of lovely walks, exploring the area and just relaxing. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Two weeks just sped by. The only problems we had were with the very low beams in the sitting room (all the others were find) which my tall husband kept banging his head on - and he never normally does this! Could have done with a lighter weight quilt on the double bed, it was very heavy. The shower is very slow - but appreciate the cottage is very old and this may be hard to change.
A great place to stay for walkers but rather remote with narrow roads to get in and out. We had a wonderful time as we did lots of walking in the area and did not need to use the car.
Lovely cottage, well kept, kitchen was great and overall we felt at home. The master bed was very comfy & we were impressed with the standard of the bedding. Only two niggles, the living room furniture needs a re-jig. It was awkward to watch tv for one guest. Secondly, parking can be an issue as there is a working farm next door & we got the feeling this was a contentious issue. However we had a peaceful holiday in a lovely location & we would return again.
Pleasant property but found it difficult for parking as non visual disabled.Shower not good.Gd beds.
Very pleasant cottage in beautiful surroundings. If you do not want to drive on your holiday just get the passenger ferry across to St Mawes for your supplies (Co-op)
