Ellenglaze is a delightful property, split over three levels, with views across Gerrans Bay, towards Gull Rock and Nare Head. It has an enclosed garden for those with dogs or children. The entrance opens into the well equipped, double aspect kitchen / dining room, it is bright and spacious and has been renovated over the winter of 2016 / 2017. On the first floor is the master bedroom with fantastic views and a second twin double / bedroom. The living area has an open fireplace to make those winter evenings nice and cosy, great sea views and a superb circular, large swivel chair.

From Ellenglaze it is only a short, five minute walk, down the hill to the pretty little harbour where many artists have taken inspiration due to the superb light and there are a number of delightful little galleries. The Plume of Feathers public house is nestled in the square and serves local ales and good pub grub all year round. Rosevine beach, which is dog friendly all year is just to the east of the village it has beautiful golden sands (at low tide) and is over looked by the increasingly famous Hidden Hut. Before you visit try and get on their social media page and acquire tickets to their special outdoor dining events.

Myself and my other half along with the two dogs had a lovely week away at Ellenglaze. The cottage was perfect and very good facilities. Location was great with some nice pubs in the village and the local beach being dog friendly was ideal. The information the owners provided before our stay was very useful.

This is a great cottage- comfortable, well equipped with great sea views. It is well located with easy access to the village and the coastal paths.

Generally this is a very well appointed property in generally good condition ideal for 2 couples or a family and in a lovely part of Cornwall. A few minor niggles were that we could have done with some instructions on how to work the high tech ceramic type hob and also some instructions for the TV netficks etc which we could not get to work properly ( perhaps it just needed some batteries in the remote) . My only other suggestion would be that the carpet in the living room could do with an end of season shampooing and that a couple of tiles in the fire surround were cracked. Generally i would not hesitate to recommend this property, this is a lovely property with some amazing views in a lovely part of Cornwall.

We and our dogs had a lovely holiday in Portscatho, made even better with our stay at Ellenglaze. It has a lovely enclosed garden and beautiful views from most windows. It is a very well equipped house and we enjoyed our stay in it. We love Porthcurnick Beach and the Hidden Hut. We most definitely hope to stay again.

Thanks for a great stay on the Roseland, close to our favourite beach!! The house was very comfortable and suited us well. Just a short ride to St. Mawes and close to the King Harry Ferry, which meant we could easily get to all our favourite places.

Visited for one week mid-April, which was a first time staying in the Roseland peninsula. Portscatho provided a good base from which to explore and walk along the beautiful coast here. Took our dog and found everybody very welcoming towards her. Although Portscatho itself has limited beach there are several great ones nearby. The house has a well-equipped modern kitchen, and a lovely view over the bay from both the ground floor lounge and the upstairs bedrooms. The village shop is well provided plus the local pub served good food. Only suggestion would be to provide a guest introduction leaflet, which could be brief but contain essential information such as the WiFi password (which we finally located in the guest book left for comments). The owners were friendly and helpful. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Ellenglaze was an ideal base for a week's break in Cornwall at the end ofJanuary. The house itself is well located, five minutes' walk from the centre of Portscatho with its pub, shop and harbour. There is a small but attractive garden, which is well fenced-in and suitable for dogs. The sea views are fantastic, especially from the upstairs windows, but also from the living room and the front garden. For just two people it was very spacious. There are some lovely beaches hereabouts, which were great for dog-walking at this time of year, but the lanes are narrow and parking limited so I don't now how they would be in summer! The scenery is lovely, both along the coast and around the Carrick Roads.

The property is on the end of a row with several other properties with the most fantastic views overlooking the sea. The walk into the village is on a short hill but nothing too strenuous. The village is not too busy with an excellent local shop and pub. There are several beaches nearby with Truro around 30 minutes away. The property has An excellent kitchen with all amenities required and has two bedrooms on the first floor and one on the ground. The bathroom on the upper floor does not have a shower attached and the handheld one in the property is broken. There are two small sets of stairs. The property was generally clean but could do with a touch up in places, the sofa for example is stained and there are a few marks on the walls. we did have to buy an air freshener as the smell of dog was very noticeable on the furniture and carpet in the living room. The only other issue is the size of the bin outside - make sure you double bag your rubbish as there is a chance foxes will rip apart the bags in the night! Generally speaking the property is in a great location and the caretakers were very helpful in finding us a high chair and allowing us in at 2.30 as opposed to 4. The property is worth staying in, however will be far far better with a bit more TLC.

This was our first stay in Portscatho and also the Roseland, after many years of visiting Cornwall and staying around Falmouth. We booked quite late but were really pleasantly surprised with the area, village and of course the home. The house was in good condition, after seeming to have a recent refit in the kitchen, the kitchen was so wonderfully equipped with the sharpest and nicest knives I've had the pleasure of using when on holiday. Everything was provided for and the appointment of the appliances was very much appreciated (washer and dishwasher). It was unusual to have two flights of stairs to get to the shower room but if we enjoyed baths more a perfect one was appointed on the same floor as the bedrooms. The views were what made this home though, every day a different view with the sun, wind, clouds etc. Views from the downstairs were ok but when you woke up every morning to the sun and the waves it was just a pleasure. There was a shop in the village that sold just about everything you could imagine, lovely pasties, a butchers and also a pretty gift shop and gallery. The pub was nice and welcoming but as we'd arranged the food for the week (yes Waitrose do deliveries) we just partook of a couple of drinks. The house had a lovely enclosed garden so we were able to let our dog out off the lead. The beach is just a short walk down the hill with a Coffee Shack, there are also lovely walks along the coast path and the Hidden Hut is a good find for some lovely food and drinks.
