2 bedrooms

Harbour Retreat is a beautifully renovated property; the living area is bright and superbly finished and detailed and, along with the master bedroom, has fabulous views of the quay. If the plan for your holiday is relaxation then try sitting by the open French doors with a glass of wine watching the bustle of a busy village harbour, little blue passenger ferries heading over to Falmouth and the sound of waves lapping against the harbour wall.

St Mawes is one of Cornwall's most desirable holiday destinations and the stunning harbour surrounded by lovely local shops, restaurants, bars and hotels is a constant bustle of vibrancy during the season. There is a never ending variety of boating to keep the view changing - kayaks paddling out of the harbour, regular ferry passenger services to Falmouth and other destinations up the Fal estuary, the constant bustle of sailing boats, both large and small, and shipping movements further out to sea will keep all amused. During the winter it is a quiet, peaceful village that rarely sees frosts or snow.

First Floor: Harbour Retreat is set on one level. On entering the property there is a hallway with doors leading to: second bedroom with twin zip and link beds, hanging rail and chest of drawers. Family bathroom with shower over, WC and hand basin. The hallway opens out into the open plan, double aspect living, kitchen and dining area with views of the harbour. Please note that, since the photographs were taken, the bay window at the side of the property has been removed and has been replaced by a flush window; the sofas have also been replaced. The kitchen has fully fitted units, there are comfortable sofas, a dining table and French doors that open out onto a small balcony. A further door leads to the master bedroom with 6' bed (replacing the 5' bed shown in the photographs) with wardrobe and views of the harbour. A further door leads to the en-suite shower room with WC and hand basin.
Exterior: Small balcony to the front of the property, walkway to the entrance door to the rear of the property from Bohella Road.

Facilities & Services
There is a digital electric central heating system throughout and an electric convection fire in the lounge. There is a large flatscreen smart TV with Freesat in the lounge. The fully fitted kitchen has granite worktops and the equipment includes an electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge / freezer, microwave, kettle, Nespresso with Aeroccino frother and a toaster. There is a combined washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a dishwasher. There is an iPod speaker dock. There is an iron and ironing board. There is a cot and high chair.

Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included, but you will need to bring your own beach towels. There are Hungarian goose down pillows and duvets in each bedroom. As with a lot of properties in St Mawes, there is no dedicated parking space; however the main public car park is only 150m away. Comfortable, well equipped apartment in a great location with a lovely view. Beds, bed linen and towels all top quality. We had a delightful holiday in our favourite place in Cornwall.

Susan Oliver

A recently refurbished apartment so everything in tiptop condition. Balcony big enough for two to enjoy a view of part of the harbour and people walking along . Sun on balcony from waking until late afternoon. Nice touch of the welcome tray. It suited us as a retreat from our cottage which our family were in! Easy walk from the shops and. Easy access to shops without the hill to climb.

From the moment we stepped through the front door, we were wowed. The apartment was spotless and wonderfully equipped. We couldn't have wanted for anything. The owners have made sure everything is provided and it really is a home from home. The view was amazing and we spent much of our time sitting out on the balcony watching the world go by. On our first night, there was some sort of event happening across the harbour and we were privileged to enjoy a fantastic firework display! The shop was conveniently located beneath us which sold everything we required. St. Mawes itself is a very small and quiet town, which was perfect for us as we wanted a relaxing week away. However, there are plenty of places to eat out and pubs to visit most of which seem to be dog friendly. We went to the Rising Sun a few times for food and drinks, which was a very short walk away, and were never disappointed. We also enjoyed a ferry ride across the harbour to Falmouth (the ferry was also dog friendly) and spent a day there. It's a typical town centre with all of the shops you would expect. Unfortunately the beach we found here was not dog friendly but we did find a nice bar to have a drink in which was on the beach so still managed to enjoy the views. The only very small downsides were, the shower in the en suite bathroom seemed to be broken as we couldn't turn the heat down and it was way too hot to shower in but fortunately there was another shower in the other bathroom; and the quilt, which had it have been winter would have been perfect as it was very thick and cosy, was just too heavy for the time of year that we were there and it was almost unbearably hot at night - but as previously mentioned, the owners had thought of everything and there was a fan provided in the bedroom wardrobe :) All in all a fantastic stay, we were sad to leave but will hopefully visit for another holiday in the future x

We enjoyed every minute of every day. The location was spot on. A little scary driving down to unload lol but the cottage and it’s comforts are well worth it.

Peter Cotton

A enjoyable stay in a well equipped, very clean apartment with a great view. Loved the light and airy feel to it. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. Very comfortable bed and furniture. Couldn’t fault it. However, carrying the cases and paraphernalia from the car to the apartment was not for those with bad backs or other health issues. That was the only drawback.

Jeff Short

An excellently appointed property in a great location. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our only criticisms were 1. The dining table was too small and 2. the en suite had mild drain odours

Jacqueline Daniels

Beautiful apartment with lovely decor and everything you could possibly need for your stay. Cream tea to welcome us was a lovely surprise. Stunning views to wake up to overlooking the harbour and being right in the heart of St Mawes ,pubs coffee shops local bakery etc were all on your doorstep. Great the owners kindly welcomed dogs too . Will definitely return .

On arrival we found the place extremely clean and very well fitted out. We loved Saint Mawes and greatly enjoyed watching the harbour activity through the windows. We did however find all the chairs in the lounge extremely uncomfortable to sit on and we both suffered from an aching back after a couple of days - so I would not recommend it to anyone who has back problems. With that one exception, everything else about the property was excellent and we certainly loved Saint Mawes and will return there again.

Rosalind Robertson

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely and perfectly situated apartment. Hopefully be back in the future!

> Wonderful modern and clean appartment > Lots of natural light so very light and airy feel > Lovely balcony to sit and eat in > Best equiped holiday appartment we have been to > Very peaceful location right by the quay > Parking really easy in ain car park (was only point we weren't sure on beforehand - its £30 for a week and didn't have any problems with space) > Highly recommend

Our stay at Harbour Retreat was great. The accommodation was clean, tidy, spacious and had lots of extra creature comforts that we did not expect, such as a welcome pack of local produce, Ice packs, cool bag, shopping bag, first aid kit, torch, maps, toaster, microwave, tide clock, Nespresso coffee machine with coffee, games, cleaning equipment, usb charging points, there are really too many little nice touches to mention. The main bedroom had lots of storage space and the on suite bathroom was furnished to a high standard. The view from the balcony overlooking the harbour was nice even though impaired slightly by the roof of a building in front of the accommodation. The small balcony catches the sun and it was very nice sitting on the chairs provided watching the boats in the harbour. The location of the accommodation is great, right in the centre of St. Mawes with everything just minutes’ walk away. We would defiantly go back and stay at Harbour Retreat,

What a beautiful apartment! it certainly exceeded all our expectations. it was spotlessly clean and ready prepared for our stay even with a cream tea ready for us in the refrigerator. Emma made everything ready for us and kept in contact. We were even able to occupy ahead of time on the day we arrived. The apartment is very well fitted out with everything a small party would need and located right in the middle of the village with easy access to local pubs, restaurants and the waterfront. The superb location and the views from the property alone make this a wonderful choice for a holiday stay and for us the weather was hot, so an added bonus. Well done Emma!

The apartment would have received excellent for cleanliness and condition but I considered the master bedroom carpet needed cleaning. Everything else was absolutely lovely and very clean. The owners had put love and care into the apartment and it showed. Beautifully decorated and extremely well equipped. Well placed for all village amenities and a sea view. I would stay again.

Belinda Rimmer

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Small but perfectly proportioned, Great for summer or winter breaks.

Stephen Hilton

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment which was so comfortable and well appointed that we chose not to eat out on any evening. Instead we bought local produce from the excellent Deli, well stocked supermarket, local bakers, and nearby farm-shop and ate in whilst enjoying the view of St Mawes' harbour through the open patio doors. The king-size bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in and the provision of a Nespresso coffee machine ensured we enjoyed an excellent capaccino every morning along with fresh pastries fetched from Café Chandlers opposite the Quay. Harbour Retreat was an excellent base from which my wife and I enjoyed the many beautiful costal walks with our Jack Russell.

Jane Pringle

What a fabulous location. Beautifully equipped with nothing overlooked. Customer service second to none!

Claire Monkton

We were delighted with Harbour Retreat. We use holiday lets 2 or 3 times per year and it’s rare they are as clean or well maintained as Harbour Retreat. It really is a lovely property; nice and bright and cosy, with a superb view and so central. We thought the décor was great. Also, we loved all of the extra little touches, such as the cream tea. Everything was handled so professionally and it was a breath of fresh air not to have a long list of rules in the welcome pack. Will definitely return and recommend to others.

Catherine Benc

We enjoyed St Mawes at its best. The apartment was spacious and welcoming - Beautifully fitted out with all the essentials need for a weeks holiday.

Michael Millard

Harbour Retreat is a excellent place to stay in St Maws. Its location is ideal and the facilities provided are everything you could require. My family and I have had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the apartment.

Paul Holt

Great location with lovely view from balcony......although harbour obscured by roof of building in front. Apartment excellent boutique style with top end kitchen / bathroom fittings, etc. St Mawes is beautiful with some great walking from the apartment or ferry ride to Place and St Anthony's Head. Some great pubs, restaurant within 100 metres from the apartment. Also an excellent butcher and Coop store nearby.

Deborah Otterburn

The best self catering property we have ever stayed in! A great view of the harbour, but just far enough away to be able to sit in private on the balcony, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and with some lovely touches. Five stars all round! We would definitely hope to return again one day soon.

Raymond Baines

A lovely apartment set in a very central location at the heart of St. Mawes. The apartment is very well furnished with quality furniture, fittings and lovely comfy bed. Great view from the front over the bay. In fact the only downside to this property is getting your luggage into it, particularly if you are not overly young or fit. The nearest you can get your car is about about 100 yds. away. Apart from the access it's a great place with all the local shops, pubs and restaurants and the ferry to Falmouth on your doorstep. It's a good base from which to tour the local countryside.

John Smart

We really enjoyed ourselves during our stay at Harbour Retreat. The accommodation was better than expected and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of finish. We are regular users of self catering accommodation and would definitely put Harbour Retreat near the top

Emma Gilbert

What a wonderful apartment! You can tell the owners have put a lot of care and attention into ensuring you have everything you need on hand. The welcome treats in the fridge were a lovely touch and much appreciated after a long drive! The location is superb and we had a thoroughly enjoyable weeks stay in this beautiful part of the UK. We loved it that much that we've already booked to return next year!!

Tony Redding

We could not have wished for a more relaxing and comfortable holiday. Not only was the weather excellent, the apartment met every expectation, not only in its comfort and decor, but its location was ideal. The view from the French windows was a delight and to open the fridge on arrival to find Emma had left a cream tea for us was a very pleasant surprise. There are various restaurants and pubs within a very short walk, together with a butchers, bakery, deli, post office and supermarket. We didn't use the car except for one day and found the ferries easy to use and very convenient for getting around. The car park is a two minute walk away.overall an excellent apartment, which we can thoroughly recommend. We aim to return next year.

Paul Susans

Absolutely lovely accommodation and attention to detail. Needed to call owners for assistance and they dealt with the problem brilliantly. Will definitely book again and wholeheartedly recommend

Katharine Nizzardi

The apartment was amazing with a wonderful view. St Mawes is a lovely village with a relaxed vibe. We had a great holiday and will be back.

Tony Hornett

Upon arrival we found the apartment to be in pristine condition and everything we needed was in the apartment, it was very comfortable and the view was great, the location was ok but would be difficult for elderly or infirm people to get to. could not fault Harbour retreat and will defiantly return.

Karen Evans

St Mawes is a great place for us to stay with plenty to do and a variety of boat trips. Good local food and interesting shops. The parking is well organised too. It has the most stunning outlook which changes with the different light on the water. The flat was ideal. It was near all amenities and had an excellent view from the main room and one of the bedrooms. It was well appointed and very comfortable.

Suzanne Cottey

Harbour Retreat is a beautiful apartment with great views and Emma, the owner, made us feel very welcome with a note pinned to the fridge and scones, jam & cream in the fridge on arrival. The dual aspect open plan living/kitchen/dining room with balcony is a very peaceful space. The layout of the property is perfect, each room is finished to a very high standard and the property was immaculately clean. We absolutely loved this apartment and St Mawes has everything you need. Having a chinese meal delivered by boat on the Wednesday evening was fantastic. Loved it, would definitely stay again. We rent holiday properties in Cornwall 3 times a year and this is one of the very best we've had the pleasure of staying in.

Jane Rowland

We spent a week at Harbour Retreat early April. Beautiful goodies awaited us which was most appreciated. The flat is so well furnished and lovely contemporary feel. Perfectly situated. Lovely views. Owners were great when unfortunately I was taken ill one day and had a hospital visit. They popped in to check on us which was much appreciated. We will definitely return! Thank you for sharing your beautiful apartment in our favourite part of the world.

David Skinner

The apartment was excellent . Everything you could want and more was provided. It was 5 star. Everything was of very high standard.

Jane Wood

Had a most enjoyable 5 days in Harbour Retreat with our friends. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nice touch to provide a welcoming cream tea - yummy. Also so pleased they allowed well behaved dogs - huge bonus. Convenient situation in the village - near to shops, pubs and restaurants. Have been visiting St Mawes for over 50 years and this was one of the nicest apartments we have rented. Would definitely book again.

Fab! Beautiful area and couldn't have asked for more from the accommodation. Lovely welcome gifts too!

Callum Martin

I thoroughly enjoyed my break at Harbour Retreat and couldn't of asked for anywhere nicer to have stayed. The apartment itself is finished to an extremely high standard, it was incredibly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly want and more - the owners really have thought of everything! The location is amazing and the owners have really put a lot of effort into this place to make you feel welcome and relaxed. I would definitely recommend Harbour retreat to anyone, as I could not fault it in any way.

Jen Ashworth

Our first family holiday was excellent at Harbour Retreat. The apartment was perfect for us with the facilities very amenable to bringing a baby. The setting is stunning and the stylish decor made it feel a luxury break at a good price. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. St Mawes itself was lovely with good places to eat an early dinner and a delicious bakery.

Jonathan Lewis

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment has been decorated really well and has a lovely view over the harbour. We'd definitely come back to stay again.
