Veryan is beautiful, it's 1 mile walk to the beach (white sand quiet beach). The pub is lovely and there's a village shop. The house has everything you need (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer). It has 1 double room and 1 twin room. Nice powerful modern shower. Sunny garden perfect for BBQs. Really good value for money. Only mildly negative points I could make would be that the double room looks tired compared to the rest of the house. The driveway was fine for us (Toyota Yaris) but I can see why everyone has commented on it because it is a squeeze. Also, the photos of the sitting room show it as quite tired and old fashioned but there's a brand new settee and 2 sofa chairs with a smart TV in there so maybe update the photo? Overall, perfect stay and we would definitely come back again.

Veryan is a lovely village on the Roseland Peninsular, quiet and peaceful and served as an excellent base for days out. The cottage is comfortable rather than luxurious but everything we wanted was provided. The Roseland is still a relatively unknown and largely unspoilt area of Cornwall. For those who enjoy walking the views along the coastal paths are stunning ,St Anthony's Head and nearby Portscatho (pass the Hidden Hut) were our favourites. There are also numerous quiet beaches nearby to be found, ideal for young families Would have no hesitation in recommending for those seeking a quiet relaxing holiday.

Lovely traditional cottage and garden in a great area. Plenty of options to walk from the front door and leave the car in the parking space, which is easily sufficient for most normal cars. Don't expect absolute luxury and you won't be disappointed. We loved it.

Pennine exceeded our expectations in every way. The owners were contactable in the event of any problems.

This characterfull property is situated in a peaceful village with easy access to beautiful beaches and footpaths, a good pub and excellent shop (if they don't have it in, they'll get it for you!). The property isn't lavishly equipped but had everything needed for a comfortable stay, A small point - a dustpan and brush and a toilet brush would have been welcome additions.

Pennine was a very good base for exploring the local area, not least because an excellent pub, The New Inn, and shop were just round the corner, while Carne and Pendower beaches were only a short walk away. The cottage was comfortable (although our oldest daughter found the mattress on the bed nearest the window in the rear bedroom a bit hard), well-equipped (a sharper bread knife would have been good) and warmed up nicely on the one evening we needed some heating. The guide the cottage owners put together was really useful. We liked Veryan and the surrounding area, which we thought was a bit less busy than other parts of the county, especially towards the north coast. We'd recommend booking tables for evening meals well ahead, because all seemed short-staffed and very busy.

Had a lovely relaxing two week stay at this cottage. Close to a beautiful beach and within a short drive to lots of attractions. I had seen previous reviews complaining about the small driveway but didn’t have a problem parking our SUV. Our daughter joined us later in the holiday and we actually managed to fit both cars on the drive so please don’t be out off by the comments from other people. There was a also plenty of road parking very close by. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely garden to sit in although in need of some new chairs as is the lounge. Other facilities very good and great shower. Parking a bit of a challenge with a larger car, particularly reversing out but there is free parking down near the church and there was always availability when we were there. Local pub food excellent and no problem getting a table. Local shop sells frozen Indian food and it was excellent. Good location for travelling around Cornwall.

The cottage is nice, basic but the drive should not be advertised as a parking space as is too tight to reverse in and out of useless you want to damage your car. You will have to park at the bottom of a steep hill. Shower not very clean but think was just blocked and really nice cleaner sorted out. Lovely village!

WE stayed one in in early July 2021 Pros - good location in quite village with good pub beds very comfortable shower good Negative - do not try and park a family car on the drive ok for mini or fiat 500, lounge furniture very poor quality and uncomfortable holes in cushions, fitted sheet over one chair sofa you cannot get out off Surely in this day and age it is possible to obtain furniture of a better standard even second hand

The cottage was lovely and peaceful, the birds did have a lot to say! But that was fine! My only recommendation would don't use a small car, parking a Toyota land cruiser was fun!

FIRST THE GOOD Nice place ,well equipt kitchen, good size bedrooms, good telly ,good wifi, nice bed and pillows etc and a supurb shower. NOT SO GOOD The photo gives a impression of a wide drive ,its not, house is on a slight hill and narrow road,( like many in Cornwall ) so not so easy to park the car. Sofa could do with changing ( nearly rocked myself to sleep trying to get off it ) Close to road and no double glazzing front of house ,so being a light sleeper you can hear cars passing and people talking outside. If my (not so good ) does 'nt bover then I would recommend

The cottage had everything we needed. Beautiful location and only 100 metres from the pub. Very clean and well equipped. Unfortunately the weather was not good for us but still managed to get out and about. There are lovely little quiet beaches within a few miles.

Despite giving a lower rating for cleanliness and comfort, I would DEFINITELY recommend this little cottage for a stay in the beautiful VERYAN area. My main point for comfort would be to improve the lounge seating, however don't let this put you off - we enjoyed a very comfortable and peaceful 2 weeks at the cottage. The village location, the garden, the comfy bed and the amazing shower (don't turn it full on!) are all outstanding features that make this cottage great value for money and I would not hesitate in booking again.

A lovely cottage with well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Nice location for walking - particularly recommend Melinsey Mill for those seeking a cream tea (best scones !) Only drawback was the awkwardness of the narrow drive which made for tricky arrivals and departures when other vehicles were on the road. We avoided the drive by parking on a side-road a few metres away.

Cosy cottage in a really pretty village good location for exploring Cornwall . Comfy beds great shower , good well equipped kitchen could just do with better seating in the living room .

The cottage was in very good condition, with many of the facilities appearing new It had been very well cleaned. .The kitchen was well equipped. The front 'master bedroom was specious, airy and well equipped. The location was very good; the village had a a fine pub with decent food and a well stocked village store with decent opening hours. The village was an ideal location for the coast and the wider Roseland peninsular. The sitting room was a bit gloomy but generally comfortable. The garden was functional. The owners are obviously not gardeners. The garden furniture was not particularly comfortable. and the patio was not in the right place for the sun at any time. Overall, however, we were very impressed and hope to return soon.

Richard Gribble

The cottage was pleasant and in a good location and we had a great holiday. However the cottage needs a makeover as it was very tired and not as comfortable as you would expect today. Because of covid we expected a very clean cottage but this wasn't the case. Several cobwebs were apparent and the thick dust on top of the wardrobe in the front bedroom was very disappointing. The shower might have been cleaned before we arrived but it certainly hadn't been wiped down. I could go on and this is why we thought it poor value for money

Lovely cottage in the village of Veryan, Cornwall. Within walking distance of beaches and coastal path.

This is our second stay in Pennine, we chose to come back because we absolutely loved the cottage and it’s location. It’s so peaceful and tranquil. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Nice cottage with good facilities and amenities but good do with updating the furniture. Drive is very tight to park in.

Our stay at Pennine in the lovely village of Veryan was very enjoyable. The cottage with lovely views from the rear and private garden were lovely. The kitchen was well equipped, bedroom very comfortable and shower excellent. The sofa is a little soft and perhaps could do with being replaced and the TV could be a little larger. Overall we had a fabulous week and will definitely come again.

A lovely well equipped cottage in a nice quiet and picturesque village, Would definitely stay again.

Our stay at Pennine was comfortable and the surroundings area was idyllic and peaceful but we found we were quite isolated from local restaurants and supermarkets. The New inn pub was close by but opening hours were very limited. The cottage had everything you need for a comfortable stay but my only disappointment was the couch in the lounge ,it needs updating as it was difficult to relax.I also struggle to see how maybe a family of 4 could sit adequately in the lounge area. In saying that the beds were very comfortable and the shower was excellent.

We spent two weeks here. Family of four with teenage kids. The property is a cosy cottage with a good sized master bedroom and twin room. The shower room is compact but has a great shower cubicle with a powerful shower. The kitchen is well equipped with a small dining table for 4. The living room is also compact but comfortable. It is worth mentioning that parking is a bit of a challenge given the tight lane outside and while the driveway can take a large family hatchback you have to be comfortable with your parking skills. It doesn't detract from the cottage just something to be aware of if you are not used to Cornish roads. The village has great amenities, with the shop/post office open 7 days a week, a cafe and pub. The location is fantastic being just over a mile from Carne beach. Overall a very enjoyable holiday in a very pleasant location.

Pennine is a very nice cottage in a beautiful village. I don't think the photos do it justice as I was concerned it would be a bit snug for 4 adults but it was fine. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and perfectly positioned with lovely walks from the door. It is close to the pub and shop both of which are very good. The garden gets evening sun, perfect for an aperitiv. The village is very pleasant to walk around in the evening taking in the church, water garden and of course, the pub. Melinsey Mill is close by and is a wonderful peaceful place to have cream teas by the lake or delicious pizzas from their pizza oven in the evening when the twinkly lights come on. Carne beach is an easy walk away and is stunning. I would love to stay at Pennine again as it is a perfect base for exploring Roseland which has so much to offer.
