Petroc is a superb property, lovingly renovated and restored with sumptuous furnishings and luxurious detailing. The master bedroom opens out onto a large balcony with simply breath-taking views of St Mawes Harbour creates a perfect spot to grab a morning coffee or a glass of wine and watch the boats and ferries pottering by. There is a small courtyard which is perfect for drying wetsuits and the luxury of a heated outside shower to wash the sand and salt from the children.

St Mawes is simply an idyllic spot for a holiday. It is perfect for those who want to get out on the water or explore the stunning coastline or the Roseland Peninsula. There are two shingle beaches in St Mawes or some lovely sandy beaches on the St Anthony headland. Staying in St Mawes you would not need your car all week. Everything is within walking distance and the passenger ferries provide regular services around the estuary from the delightful harbour.

We loved that this was a detached property. It was well equipped and clean. The bedrooms were of a good, equal size with lovely views. The balcony off the master bedroom has gorgeous sea views. Alas there was construction work on the property directly outside and we felt unable to use it to its full potential. That aside, a great location and would stay there again.

This was our first visit to Petroc but we've stayed in St Mawes a few times. This cottage is wonderful. It has everything you could wish for; views, peace, space and is superbly equipped right down to the Nespresso coffee pod machine. We loved our stay here. Its a very short, but steep walk to the sea front and has a balcony to admire the sea views with a sundowner in hand! It is furnished beautifully. The owners have great taste! I couldn't recommend this cottage enough or Cornwall Cottages superb service. I dare say it will become a very popular choice!

We had a truly wonderful few days at Petroc, aided by some magnificent Easter weather. Please pass on our thanks to the owners, who have created a fabulous, tasteful, welcoming house/home. We loved everything about it, it is the perfect place for a family to get away and enjoy Cornwall.

Last minute booking, which was hassle free. Well presented spacious house, very comfortable, and well equipped. Bonus having a car parking space at the rear, but it is very tight, so more suited to a smaller car. Appreciated the welcome gifts. House was a stones throw from the quay, but be prepared for steep steps. St Mawes was a lovely location, pretty, and friendly people. Would very much recommend a visit. In all, loved our stay, and would return. Very enjoyable week.

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, in a fantastic spot & a beautiful view from the balcony. Perfect for our holiday requirements. My family & I have booked with Cornwall Cottages before without any issues. This time there was an issue with the security deposit (despite being told it would not be taken from my account, my statement showed a withdrawal) sadly the young (?) operative I spoke with seemed unable to grasp this & was short to the point of rudeness. Otherwise I have always found them to be most polite, knowledgeable & courteous.

Booked very last minute, staff made it simple to book and very knowledgeable of local area. House was beautiful, had everything we could possibly need. Parking space although very tight was a perfect. Very clean and modern, but welcoming. The welcome wine and biscuits was a nice touch. Linen good quality, nice to have extra throws if needed in the evening. Perfect location slightly away from small town centre but close enough to walk. Lots of steps or a steepish hill to get back up from the harbour to the house. We had a quest with mobility issues and managed just went slowly. Could do with some coasters on the bedside tables, for tea in the morning. Bedroom balcony just lovely, lots of mornings having breakfast with the whole family outside. Definitely will visit again.

We had a truly wonderful week staying in St Mawes at Petroc. The property has been recently furnished and the owners have made a beautiful job of it. We wanted for nothing. It was such a great size for our family of 5 and the beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in. We will definitely return.
