Tucked away on a quiet lane only a few steps from the harbour in St Mawes, The Workshop is a delightfully presented family holiday home with stunning views right across the harbour from the mezzanine and slightly restricted sea views from the living room. It is right in the heart of St Mawes and perfectly positioned for exploring the village and the area. The ferries to Falmouth, Place Manor, Trelissick Gardens & Truro depart from the quay which is just a few steps from your front door. St Mawes is perfect for just leaving the car and exploring by foot.

This reverse level converted timber clad building has been cleverly designed and is presented in excellent order. The main living space is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen, comfortable sofas and a dining area. It is an ideal cottage for a larger family with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor. It would also be great for a couple looking for a bit more space in the middle of St Mawes. There is a little patio garden just in front of the property which gets sun for most of the day.

First Floor: Living area with open plan kitchen and dining area.
Ground Floor: Double bedroom with 5' 6” bed and en suite shower room & WC, twin bedroom with zip and link beds comprising either two single beds or a 5' double (normally set up as a twin, please indicate on booking if you would like it set up as a double), and a single bedroom with a narrow, full-length single bed suitable for adults. The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment & WC.
Mezzanine: French doors and glass Juliet balcony giving amazing views right across the harbour. Sitting area with TV and DVD - an ideal retreat for older children.
Exterior: There is a small private enclosed patio garden area with some outside furniture.

Facilities & Services
The kitchen is fully fitted with an electric hob & oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and fridge and separate freezer. There is a TV with DVD in the lounge and a further TV and DVD on the mezzanine floor.

Bed linen, towels & electricity are all included. The heating is via night storage heaters. No smoking is permitted. A well-behaved dog will be accepted at the small additional charge of £25 per week, however, please do remember not to leave your dog unattended at the property. There is no parking at the property, although the main car park is only some 50 yards away from where weekly tickets can be purchased. WiFi is available at the property. Please note that the lane to The Workshop is very narrow so please be careful.

A stylish and comfortable, well appointed, dog friendly holiday cottage, just a couple of minutes walk away from the harbour. We particularly enjoyed sitting up in the “crows nest” watching the activity on the water.

Beautiful cottage. Wonderful week. Super clean and comfy! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Lovely house full of character, clean ,light and airy, within walking distance of everything.Really well presented and has all the comforts you require. Situated down a really quiet lane.Cornwall Cottages were highly professional and trust worthy with excellent communication. We would definitely use them again and cannot fault our experience with them in any way.

The workshop cottage exceeded our expectations. It was so bright and airy with every amenity. It was a delight to sit on the Mezzanine level and watch the world go by.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Comfortable and very well equipped cottage. Close to beaches and town centre.

Lovely light and airy living space in a great location for the village. Well stocked kitchen but let down by very old washing up bowl which would but such a simple/cheap item to replace. Also, 10tog duvets in the summer were way too heavy.

Lovely cottage and perfect location. The cleanliness could have been better particularly downstairs in bedrooms and bathrooms. Is also a bit cluttered.

We had an excellent week in St Mawes helped in no small way by the fact we stayed at The Workshop. The property is ideally situated just one row back from the sea wall which means there are no challenging climbs back to base. The property is very well equipped and very comfortable and I would not hesitate in recommending it.

Have been going to St Mawes for over 50 years and the Workshop is definitely one of the best properties we have rented. So good that they allow dogs. We really enjoyed staying there and would certainly book to stay there again. Thank you to the owners for letting us use their lovely home. Jane

We were lucky to have wonderful weather but the high point of our stay was the fabulous accommodation. We all loved The Workshop with its unrivalled central location and gorgeous view from the mezzanine, and the property was the best equipped we've ever stayed in. Thank you for this discovery - we fully intend to come back.

Great week at the Workshop, great location. Loved the mezzanine to sit and look out to the bay. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen had everything needed.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Workshop - and were incredibly grateful that this could be found at such short notice, having had our previously booked accommodation cancelled three days before our trip. The location is excellent, and we loved the new dormer with views across the harbour, which we enjoyed every morning and evening. The apartment is incredibly well stocked, and we had everything we could need for a relaxing trip to the beautiful Cornish coast.

Our family loved being at The Workshop - convenient for the pub, bakery, shops and wonderful walks around the Roseland peninsula. Disappointed that the kayak man had closed for the winter even though the weather was mild and dry and still only half-term school holidays?! (But that's not Cornwall Cottages or The Workshop's fault!) Many thanks, we'll be back soon!

Enjoyed our time at The Workshop.Lovely living area and kitchen with views across to Place.Nice to sit even when it was raining outside.Nice Kitchen with easy to use cooker, fridge and freezer. The bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms clean. St Mawes is a great location, lots of places to eat and a few interesting galleries, good links by ferry to Falmouth and Place .Cornwall really dog friendly so able to take our Retriever when we went out to eat. Will definitely return.

Situated right in the heart of St Mawes this is a lovely property. The upside down configuration works really well with sea views from some upstairs windows, and the living space is bright, spacious and inviting. An attic 'snug' is great for kids although it looks like the owners are planning to turn it into dormer room. Beds were comfy and the whole place is equipped like a home, not a holiday rental. Minor quibbles - the washing machine was broken during our stay (awaiting parts) and we couldn't stop the en suite shower dripping which meant I needed a wee about 15 times a night, but we loved the place and would go back in a heartbeat.

Patricia Taylor

We found the house very easy to live in and the position good with a view to the harbour. We would definitely come again. The only problem was the lock to the Bathroom which needs the screw tightening, my daughter got locked in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Workshop in St Mawes where we enjoyed two weeks of movie watching, dog walking and pub hopping! The Workshop is a lovely cottage that offered all that we'd hoped for; in fact we both commented that it is better than we'd expected. That said, a little nod to Christmas would have been appreciated; the odd bauble or string of fairy lights.... ;) We took our two english pointers and the cottage was perfect for them too; plenty of room and access to the garden. We would happily return to stay again!

With its pretty cottage style furnishings, just five minutes from the harbour side, the Workshop made a great base for our stay on the Roseland. The open plan living room /kitchen is well equipped and a comfortable size. The bedrooms are downstairs, and though compact, are also comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved being close to St Mawes' pubs and restaurants, and had some great trips, especially on the Place Ferry to walk along the coast to the lighthouse at St Anthony's Head. The tour of St Mawes castle is also well worth doing, using the audio guides - a bit like a Horrible History read aloud! Public transport is limited, so you need a car to enjoy this beautiful coastline. Thoroughly recommended.

We have stayed in St Mawes on several occasions but not previously at The Workshop. Lovely property, fully equipped with everything you need, comfortable, spacious and light, bright and airy. Good location a short walk from pubs, shops and the beach. Ideal base for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and going to Falmouth via the ferry. We all enjoyed a fabulous half term break, thank you.

Catherine Naysmith

Lovely place. Good space for children and adults, just what we needed for the weekend. Must remember tea towels next time (or could they be provided?)

when we arrived The floor wasn't properly swept upstairs & the mat & carpet were very marked. Also there was a set of cutlery in the dishwasher left over from the previous visitors. There was also a damp smell downstairs.
