Have been going to St Mawes for over 50 years and the Workshop is definitely one of the best properties we have rented. So good that they allow dogs. We really enjoyed staying there and would certainly book to stay there again. Thank you to the owners for letting us use their lovely home. Jane
We were lucky to have wonderful weather but the high point of our stay was the fabulous accommodation. We all loved The Workshop with its unrivalled central location and gorgeous view from the mezzanine, and the property was the best equipped we've ever stayed in. Thank you for this discovery - we fully intend to come back.
Great week at the Workshop, great location. Loved the mezzanine to sit and look out to the bay. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen had everything needed.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Workshop - and were incredibly grateful that this could be found at such short notice, having had our previously booked accommodation cancelled three days before our trip. The location is excellent, and we loved the new dormer with views across the harbour, which we enjoyed every morning and evening. The apartment is incredibly well stocked, and we had everything we could need for a relaxing trip to the beautiful Cornish coast.
Our family loved being at The Workshop - convenient for the pub, bakery, shops and wonderful walks around the Roseland peninsula. Disappointed that the kayak man had closed for the winter even though the weather was mild and dry and still only half-term school holidays?! (But that's not Cornwall Cottages or The Workshop's fault!) Many thanks, we'll be back soon!
Enjoyed our time at The Workshop.Lovely living area and kitchen with views across to Place.Nice to sit even when it was raining outside.Nice Kitchen with easy to use cooker, fridge and freezer. The bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms clean. St Mawes is a great location, lots of places to eat and a few interesting galleries, good links by ferry to Falmouth and Place .Cornwall really dog friendly so able to take our Retriever when we went out to eat. Will definitely return.
Situated right in the heart of St Mawes this is a lovely property. The upside down configuration works really well with sea views from some upstairs windows, and the living space is bright, spacious and inviting. An attic 'snug' is great for kids although it looks like the owners are planning to turn it into dormer room. Beds were comfy and the whole place is equipped like a home, not a holiday rental. Minor quibbles - the washing machine was broken during our stay (awaiting parts) and we couldn't stop the en suite shower dripping which meant I needed a wee about 15 times a night, but we loved the place and would go back in a heartbeat.
We found the house very easy to live in and the position good with a view to the harbour. We would definitely come again. The only problem was the lock to the Bathroom which needs the screw tightening, my daughter got locked in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Workshop in St Mawes where we enjoyed two weeks of movie watching, dog walking and pub hopping! The Workshop is a lovely cottage that offered all that we'd hoped for; in fact we both commented that it is better than we'd expected. That said, a little nod to Christmas would have been appreciated; the odd bauble or string of fairy lights.... ;) We took our two english pointers and the cottage was perfect for them too; plenty of room and access to the garden. We would happily return to stay again!
With its pretty cottage style furnishings, just five minutes from the harbour side, the Workshop made a great base for our stay on the Roseland. The open plan living room /kitchen is well equipped and a comfortable size. The bedrooms are downstairs, and though compact, are also comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved being close to St Mawes' pubs and restaurants, and had some great trips, especially on the Place Ferry to walk along the coast to the lighthouse at St Anthony's Head. The tour of St Mawes castle is also well worth doing, using the audio guides - a bit like a Horrible History read aloud! Public transport is limited, so you need a car to enjoy this beautiful coastline. Thoroughly recommended.
We have stayed in St Mawes on several occasions but not previously at The Workshop. Lovely property, fully equipped with everything you need, comfortable, spacious and light, bright and airy. Good location a short walk from pubs, shops and the beach. Ideal base for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and going to Falmouth via the ferry. We all enjoyed a fabulous half term break, thank you.
Lovely place. Good space for children and adults, just what we needed for the weekend. Must remember tea towels next time (or could they be provided?)
when we arrived The floor wasn't properly swept upstairs & the mat & carpet were very marked. Also there was a set of cutlery in the dishwasher left over from the previous visitors. There was also a damp smell downstairs.
