This accommodation is all about the view over the bay and it doesn’t disappoint. Lovely main bedroom too. The layout of the kitchen and arrangement of furniture could be improved though - the dining table and TV might be better in the bay window for instance

Gordon Shaw

First time in St Mawes so took a bit of a gamble on this but it turned out to be the best property I have rented in several years. Excellent location, views and the owners could not have been more hospitable. Would certainly recommend.

Malcolm Brookes

Lovely location. Stunning views. Comfy bed. Shower worked well. Very friendly hosts always available. Lack of space in lounge area made watching TV somewhat challenging. If space for large fridge/freezer was used as a dining area then that would facilitate including the existing dining area into the lounge making it a more useable space.

Sarah Brookman

We had such a relaxing week. The views are stunning, and we could have sat in the apartment enjoying them all day! We appreciated being able to walk down to the beach at the end of the road for an early morning swim as the sun rose! Great walks from the door, both into St Mawes and around the coast. Excellent location, and kind hosts.

We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing holiday at Upper Tresulian. The apartment is clean, well equipped and has fantastic panoramic views. The steps up to the property were no problem and certainly worth it for the fabulous view. Next door the owners were very friendly but unobtrusive and had 2 lovely dogs who greeted us each day. St Mawes itself is a delightful Cornish village and there are plenty of places to visit within walking or driving distance and the ferry across to Fslmouth is a great day out. We hope to stay again!

Spectacular views from this property as long as you don't mind the forty three steps up to it. Always something to watch. Would stay there again.

Chris Stone

A superb flat in a lovely location. St Mawes is a great holiday base, the Roseland peninsula has so many great walks from here, and regular ferries to Falmouth, Place and Trelissick.

Second visit to Upper Tresulian - excellent location, stunning views. Very friendly & helpful owners.

Phil Villiers

We've now stayed at Upper Tresulian six years in a row.....and judging from the guest book, others can beat that - says it all! Worth it just for that view alone! P.S. Having such lovely owners living next door to the property is an added bonus!

Carole Clee

This is the second time we have stayed at Upper Tresulian and we hope to stay many more times. The only disappointment is they are booked all summer long! The location cannot be bettered, the apartment is comfortable and practical with stunning views, quiet but only yards away from the centre of St Mawes. Hosts Paula and Leslie feel more like old friends and very approachable for local information and help, not forgetting 'Alfie and Buddy' their wonderful dogs who greet you as long lost friends.

Carole Clee

We love St. Mawes and Upper Tresullian is a lovely place to stay, with its panoramic sea views, quiet but central location and Paula and Leslie are super hosts. We would like to stay (out of season) many times.

Marion Phillips

The wonderful panoramic view of the bay from Upper Tresulian must make it one of the top places to stay in St Mawes. This apartment is bright, squeaky clean and comfortable with everything needed for a very easy and enjoyable stay. It is also perfectly located both to get around the village on foot and to explore further afield by car. We'll be back!

Phil Villiers

We've stayed at Upper Tresulian in May for the last 5 years and are already looking forward to hopefully returning in 2019. At the risk of stating the obvious, we do rather like it! Everything about it is perfect for us - as is the wonderful location in the Roseland Peninsula.

Carla Van Deutekom

Love at first sight! The loveliest holiday let I have ever had! The flat is bright, modern, with beautiful views on the harbour. Very well equipped kitchen. Furnished with love. A bonus was the sitting area in the rear of the garden - also with beautiful sea views! The owners, a very nice and hospitable couple, live next door, which made us feel "at home" even more. The flat is situated only a few minutes' walk from the centre of the village (quite a steep climb, which may be a problem for elderly people). One small disappointment: the beds! In such a great place one expects super luxury beds - they were not bad, just average. I used the second bedroom (my friend had the master bedroom), and (at 73, with a troublesome back) I had my doubts. However, I slept soundly and younger people probably do not understand what I am talking about. Suggestion to the owners: just simple, thin, unexpensive top mattresses would make a big difference! Only for this point did I give the rating "good" instead of "excellent". One more suggestion: a few reading lamps in the living area would be great!

Gordon Jackson

We had a very enjoyable stay in the apartment, which did not lack anything one required. It was warm, comfortable and with beautiful views. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend it to others, providing they were fit to climb all the steps up to it. Well worth it once you were inside.

This was our second stay at Upper Tresulian and we will be returning once more next year. It meets our needs in every way from the location, the cleanliness and comfort, and of course the view which is to die for! This is not the property to select if you are struggle to walk 50m up a hill, or up a couple of flights of steps, or if you find negotiating very narrow lanes in your car to reach a property intimidating. However, if these factors are not an issue, I cannot fault it. It is simply superb! Paula and Leslie provide a very warm welcome, ably assisted be their canine companions Alfie and Buddy, together with an immaculate property with a picture postcard view of St Mawes harbour. What more could you ask for?

Ros Hammond

Lovely apartment with spectacular views. Very comfortable and well equipped. It was very good to meet and chat with the owners who live next door and who were very helpful.

Phil Villiers

Our fourth year at Upper Tresulian and already looking forward to hopefully returning next year. We just love this place in all respects but particularly the ultimate view across St Mawes and the lovely, friendly owners, Leslie and Paula, who are so helpful and welcoming.

Phillip Martin

Lovely apartment with fantastic views overlooking St Mawes Apartment well equipped and very close to local amenities Owners live adjacent and are on hand if you need anything Would look to stay here again and definitely recommend this apartment

Another visit to Upper Tresulian did not disappoint, fabulous location in such a lovely village, cannot beat the view from the windows, will certainly visit again.

Excellent apartment--wonderful views in a quiet location. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We all enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Upper Tresiliun. The views were amazing and the accommodation spacious, comfortable and well resourced. It is beautifully positioned with amenities close by.

Upper Tresulian and St Mawes is one of the best and loveliest places my wife and I have stayed. The apartment was immaculate and the views are out of this world. I was impressed by the photographs on the website but actually being there is a completely different experience and not one I would have wanted to miss. For me it was ideal and the owners are lovely people. We only booked for a week and were sad to be leaving but we were told that there had been a cancellation for Lower Tresulian the following week so we moved downstairs and enjoyed another wonderful week.

Pip Adams

This was our first week staying at Upper Tresulian, but it will not be our last, in fact we've already booked for next year! The location within St Mawes is perfect. Although accessing the property requires a brief walk up the hill together with a short flight of steps, it means the views are second to none, and the layout of the property certainly makes the most of it with a picture postcard view in all directions! The apartment is finished to a high specification with excellent attention to detail, and the ice-making facility in the large fridge freezer was put to good use last week when we were lucky enough to have superb weather. The only thing not provided are hand towels, so make sure you pack some. Leslie and Paula provide a very warm welcome, ably assisted by 'the boys' Alfie and Buddy who are real characters, and we're already looking forward to seeing them again next year!

J Barry Booth

We could have stayed by the picture window all week but do venture out as St Mawes and the surrounding area is excellent for walking. The apartment is fairly well equipped and all the appliances easy to use. Furnishings a little dated to similar priced apartments we have stayed in but all serviceable and the bed was comfortable. Towels are now provided however 1 small bath towel each is not enough and hand towels should also be provided luckily we took beach towels which we needed to use. A nice apartment with excellent views!

Phil Villiers

We've now stayed here three years in a row and already plan to return next year - need we say more?!?! There is so much to commend this property - lovely friendly owners who live next door, spacious layout, stylish decor, excellent facilities and an amazing panoramic view across St Mawes Bay. I do accept that accessibility may be an issue for some as the location along Chapel/Riviera Lane with it's twists and turns can be a bit scary - we have a small car which helps - but what you get in return makes it well worth the effort!!!

Lovely flat, very comfortable with lovely view from the living area and bedroom. Welcoming owners and perfect location as long as you don't mind a bit of a climb back to the flat. Well equipped and all instructions supplied for equipment, etc. Very easy and relaxing.

Carol Feely

Spectacular views from the sitting area of the bay and the bedroom. Paula and Leslie and the boys made us very welcome with a bottle of wine on our arrival. Accommodation was perfect, just what we expected. We would book this property again. Small advisory, you need to be fit to do the steps so not suitable for the infirm.

Celia Gillett

This was my third stay at Upper T so I knew what to expect. Once again owners Paula & Leslie very welcoming & helpful. For me this flat has everything I want for a holiday. Yes I would recommend it to others but then I would run the risk of having fewer dates to choose from if they were to book it!

Hilary Eatough

We picked a good week as the weather was very good for the time of year. Enjoyed our walks around the area, yet another comfortable week spent at this apartment in St Mawes.

Alan Buchanan

The property itself has everything needed for a self catering stay. The only problem is the view from the front window, which has the ability to make you sit and do nothing for long periods of time, since it is FANTASTIC! We have stayed before at Lower Tresulian, and I have a feeling we will be back at either one in the near future. The weather for our week in October was calm and sunny for the most part, so we were out walking the coast every day. We didn't need much help from our hosts as we have been to St Mawes many times, but Leslie and Paula were on hand if needed to help out with dining recommendations, etc.

As last year a wonderful place to stay, Leslie and Paula, thanks for making my 60th extra special, great hosts, exceptional views, hope to be back soon

This propery must offer one of the best vantage points in South Cornwall. The views of St Mawes Harbour, St Anthony's Head and the Fal estuary are ever changing and simply stunning. Be aware that access to the house is steep and narrow and there are several flights of external steps to the apartment, so probably not suitable for all. You will receive a warm welcome and any help you need from the owners next door and their two fluffy dogs. I would thoroughly recommend this place for its location - not only for the views but also affording non-arduous coastal walks including around the castle, with pubs, restaurants and shops on hand and ferries from the harbour. Couldn't ask for more!

Kevin McCurdy

The apartment was stunning, beautifully clean and set out. Paula and Leslie were great hosts. The views were stunning. Definitely staying there again!

Andrew Claxton

Fabulous accommodation topped off by superb views from the sun lounge room which we never tired of. Owners were very welcoming and friendly and had excellent knowledge of the area. The best UK holiday we have ever had and we would highly recommend it to everyone.

Another wonderful St Mawes holiday. We booked all of the Tresulian Treasures this time so that we could bring the family with us. The sun shone, the sea sparkled, and we all came home refreshed &revived. St Mawes never disappoints. Having stayed in several other cottages over the past few years we regard the Tresulians to be our top choice and only wish we'd discovered it earlier. Once we park up outside the house we enjoy the fabulous views on our easy walk to the beaches, pasty shop on the quay, shops and cafes etc. everything is within easy reach, including the Castle.

The property and location was as good as ever, this being reflected by the fact that this was our third visit to Upper Tresulian. We were also fortunate in that we had good weather for the time of year.

The most fantastic view, and wonderful hosts, very good value for money and ideal place to stay for a really relaxing holiday, excellent value for money.

Emma Loder-symonds

The view is outstanding, and with a little bit of imagination this property could match that, which sadly it is currently lacking. Eg no bath towels, bath mats, hand towels; no mirrors which can be viewed at standing level; uncomfortable sofas which seat you below where the view is; budget crockery and cutlery; a yappy dog next door (owners).

Once again an excellent stay in an ideal location for us. The accommodation is extremely comfortable with outstanding views. Leslie and Paula are excellent hosts.

This apartment is excellent value for money. It has the most breathtaking sea and river views. We could find no fault with it. We have had a most enjoyable holiday.

Well, what can I say? What a beautiful place to stay! We came to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and had a very warm welcome! 'Happy anniversary' banners around the apartment and a lovely card were such a lovely touch. The apartment was lovely, gorgeous kitchen with a big American style fridge/freezer, very comfortable bedroom and a handy two bathrooms. The rooms all look like they have been newly re-furbished! And the views...WOW!! Paula and Leslie are fantastic hosts, they are so friendly and they know all the best places to go, if you need anything you only need to ask. Thank you so much for having us, we had a really lovely time xx

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Tolle Wohnung mit allem drum und dran. Nette Vermieter. Super Ausblick und tolles Wetter. Sehr gute Ausflugsmöglichkeiten (Fährverbindungen).

A wonderful spacious, well maintained apartment with spectacular sea views. The apartment has the benefit of a dedicated parking space and easy access to the village centre. Very good value.

My wife and I spent 7 lovely days at Upper Tresulian in May 2014 , the owners Paula and Leslie ( who live next door ) made us feel very welcome especially with the gift of a bottle of wine upon our arrival . The location was magnificent , the views , from the sun lounge , of the entrance to the Fal estuary are wonderful , showing in real life widescreen an ever changing panorama of ships and weather systems .

We holiday in St Mawes every year in May in a different cottage each time. Each cottage has been better than the previous one, and with Upper Tresulian we think we've finally found the ultimate place to stay in - so much so that we have already made enquiries about staying there next year for TWO weeks in May! Every aspect of our stay was wonderful but we would particularly mention our excellent hosts, Leslie and Paula, who were so friendly and helpful, and the unbelievable view from the lounge which cannot be surpassed. A truly memorable holiday!

Exactly as it looks on the website, this is a very comfortable apartment with breathtaking views of St Mawes harbour and the Fall estuary, so there is always something to look at when just blobbing out. The only negatives are the road access, which is very narrow as well as steep in places, so awkward for a long wheel base car (ours is volvo estate length); we didn't try to get back in the dark and payed to park in St Mawes! It would have been helpful to be told not to try to get out by continuing on down the road - we only just squeezed through and later discovered that NO ONE does it - there was about 2 cms to spare. Scary. That said, we had a marvellous week and the weather was beautiful, as is St Mawes and the Roseland. The apartment is very well equipped and we bought beautiful fresh local produce, as well as having great eating out experiences. The Driftwood really is worth it if you want a Michelin experience - our 3rd visit;

Upper Tresulian is an excellent, clean, beautifully maintained apartment with stunning views over the Roseland Peninsula, St. Mawes Harbour and Carrick Roads. The owners, Leslie and Paula, are very welcoming and down-to-earth people who asked us several times how we were doing and if we needed anything. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious and includes a dining area. The bedrooms are large and comfy. There are really two bathrooms (the ads say one) - one with a shower, toilet and basin and one with a bath, toilet and basin. The lounge is narrow and the seats are rather low, but afford the views noted above. There is a big-screen TV with Freesat. WiFi reception is spotty in spite of the provided extender (booster) unit. The same goes for mobile phones (at least for 3, Virgin and T-Mobile), though coverage usually was available by the front windows. All the appliances and the heating system are of very high quality and include an iron and a hairdryer. A single parking space is provided. This is one place which exceeds its advertising by a large margin, and four of us had a very enjoyable week. St. Mawes is quaint, quiet and beautiful with several good eateries (we found the Victory Inn and the Delicious Deli to be among the best). There is ferry service every half hour to Falmouth, bus service to Truro, and the Place Ferry provides access to several wonderful walks on the Peninsula. Highly Recommended.

The property was a very pleasant surprise. It was much better than it looked on the website photos! The view from the property was great and the apartment itself is very well maintained and clean. I would recommend it to anybody. G
