Windsurfing
The Roseland is a superb place for windsurfing with clean winds available from almost any direction. With south westerlies, you can sail off Tavern Beach or even better for some flat water blasting in northerlies, Castle Beach where you can park in the grass car park. For wave heads, Pendower Beach works every now and then with easterlies, but beware of the current.
Surfing
If an Easterly wind is blowing, you may surf from Pendower beach. Otherwise drive to the North coast, where there are lifeguards at all the main resorts – Perranporth, Newquay, Porthtowan etc.
Diving
Falmouth Harbour and the surrounding area is home to some of the best dive sites in the country. Wrecks, reefs and clear waters mean this is a really popular activity all year round. Are you PADI qualified or would you like to do a course? There are dive centres in Fallmouth who offer everything!

Fishing
You may fish off rocks using your own tackle, or read the blackboards on the St Mawes quays where there are fishing trips available. Do be aware that certain areas have been classified as Sea Bass nurseries so please observe the rules. The best fishing is had around the Manacles Reef or Gull Rock plus there are numerous wrecks in the area. You can also charter boats for deep sea fishing from Falmouth and they will come and pick you up from St Mawes Harbour. Plenty of fish to aim for from Mackerel to Wild Sea Bass to Conger!
