The Lighthouse Beach, St Anthony, The Roseland, Cornwall
Absolutely ideal in either an easterly or a southerly when it is very well protected. Drive to the Lighthouse at the end of the St Anthony Headland. There is a National Trust car park at the end and various paths lead down to one of the loveliest sandy beaches in the area. The sand is really fine here and the kids will love it, but it is a little bit of a scramble down the cliffs. Far better to get here by boat if you can, which is what many people do when the conditions are right. It can get very busy with all kinds of boats anchored off the beach. Dogs are allowed here in summer, but do please clear up!
